I sat next to Imelda and her husband at a performance of La Cage at the Menier and as we left she spoke to us saying how wonderful the show was. I then told her how much I was enjoying Cranford which was on BBC at the time and she said it was so much fun making. A little girl then came up to her and asked if she was the lady in Harry Potter. Just shows how she spans the age groups.
A few years later I met her at one of the famous CD signings at Dress Circle when she was signing the CD of Sweeney Todd with Michael Ball.

And when you read the thread you will see I haven't met one of the 1st 2 choices and the same for today's choices. In fact I haven't met either of the choices I had in mind for Sunday. But as it might come over that I am trying to show off I think its wise that I discontinue with the thread. Just thought it was a bit of fun. |

Morning Todays famous people are Ant and/or Dec and Imelda Staunton. Ant and Dec for me. I used to go to the Pespi Chart and CDUK back in the day, and during the ad breaks of the latter they would sometimes chat to us audience and were lovely! |

One of the Queen's footmen once came on one of my dad's ice climbing courses (my dad was an alpine guide). He didn't talk much about her, but said she was a very kind and interested employer, and knew every single member of staff's name, and that she would always ask to see her staff's holiday photos. Apparently before he went on this course, she'd asked him what he was doing for his holiday, and when he told her, said 'oh Barry! That's very brave of you! Please don't do yourself a mischief."

Ok, so I haven’t met the Queen but I have met Prince Philip. So there. The Queen was there but I wasn’t in her line 😂
I’ve met David Tennant. That more or less tops it, no?

I met Imelda after Sweeney Todd. Seen her several times in shows too. An amazing performer.
As to the Queen: Seen her a few times and been in her Palace with a member of her staff, invited of course. Was at the Diamond Jubilee concert at the Palace too. Another amazing lady.

Details, please! :) (He is one of the few 'celebrities' that fall into my 'totally would love to have a cup of coffee and a chat with this guy' category: I think he's a great actor, and he always seems like such a lovely guy overall.) If alece10 allows for random details on meeting other celebrities, that is. Wouldn't want to mess up the thread! :) |

Sir Bob Geldof and his children were regular customers in a previous part of my life. He was a high profile celebrity at the time.
It was in the open air and the whispers and looks from people nearby were priceless. He was polite when people spoke to him but didn't engage in conversation.

So there I was in the queue at Sunningdale post office not paying much attention when this large bearded guy in front booms 'Can I have a book of ten first class stamps please?' I then realised from the unmistakable voice it was Brian Blessed!*
*He lives relatively locally to me in Bagshot

Never met the Queen, but remember standing out to watch her and Queen Elizabeth when she went on tour back in 2002. A few years ago I did the whole Trouping The Colour thing and it was fun watching them all come out onto the balcony (Prince George made a guest appearance, might to then delight of people around me).
Never met Ant and Dec but I once had a gig working the BGT auditions. In Newcastle I had to stand behind a camera, on a chair, and teach 500 auditioning acts a dance to ‘Let’s Get Ready To Rumble’. Then we repeated the process out on the sodding street.

I was knocked backwards down the Oxford St Station stairs outside Niketown by Madonna's bodyguard when she was out jogging at 6.30 in the morning.
She didn't stop to see if I was ok...

If you wonder where the names come from it's because I am sleeping very badly at the moment and obscure thoughts seem to come to me in the middle of night including names.

Her own gig and the Wicked stage door don't really count I suppose, but I did also meet her at the closing night of We Will Rock You - she was chatting away to fans in the foyer during the interval so I spoke briefly to her as I passed by. |

I have met Kerry a couple of times at shows. I remember once after a Christmas musicals show at Symphony Hall Birmingham we spotted her taxi leaving and she stopped and chatted and signed the programme. She is so down to earth and very friendly as well as amazingly talented.

I'd been up all night with hooping cough and thought stuff it I can't sleep so I'll just go into work early. I was so out of it from lack of sleep I wasn't really paying attention as I stepped out. I saw her first as she was jogging in front of him and then BAM he ran straight into me and down I went! |

I might have skipped something but if we're talking about Gandolf apart from seeing him cycle around Chelsea a lot (back in the day) I do have some memories of ex-wife Paula Yates. An odd thing, but hers were the very first time I saw breast implants, and they were fab (in a bikini).
She was with Michael Hutchence and two of her kids at the time, around 1993-94 period. Strange and sad to think 3 of those people are dead now.
Spent random times with a lot of celebs, inc. Ant and Dec, but not always interesting. They were about as normal as normal could ever be.
