Everyone else's lunch is so interesting and innovative! Mine, much as I enjoy it (given I'm always hungry), is functional, whereas evening is when I/we have our main meal so far more variety and substance. I know that's against nutritional advice but saving the main meal of the day until I've finished running around suits my lifestyle and it's carb-heavy, too, as are all my meals, as that also works for me. I agree and it's also, dare I say it, a bit worthy. I'm waiting for someone to say they had a pot noodle or a jumbo sausage roll and three doughnuts.

Doing brunch - sausage sandwich, hash browns and a side of beans. Then to fall asleep to Lord of The Rings all afternoon on the sofa.

I won't be having lunch today as I've just finished breakfast (or brunch, I suppose) - waffles, Greek yoghurt and fruit, plus a large coffee.

A slight variation today as there was one egg left and I'd bought a fresh loaf when going to Sainsbury's (to collect my IT peripherals from Argos to make WFH a little easier), so it was boiled egg and a fresh crust with Lurpak. Sounds more like breakfast, I know, but I'd had my usual granola with yogurt and milk, plus fruit, for breakfast after my early morning walk.

This crazy good and super simple to make Vegan Kale and Spinach Soup, some crusty bread, and a cookie or two for dessert. The soup is pureed/blended, tasty, and nutritious.

I saw an image of some polenta dish on my Instagram feed yesterday, and have been craving it ever since, so lunch is polenta with oregano and cheese added in, topped with greek yoghurt and cucumbers. I've made a bit extra so I can finish it off for desert, with sweet toppings. And there will be coffee, of course.

Working from home today so slightly better Standard than my normal roll with cold meat in it and an orange. Today it was M&S manchego wrapped in jamon serrano with some fresh crusty tiger bread. I've also got a tub of Percy Pig ice cream to try. It must have just fell into my basket when shopping.....

I had a dinner only of side dishes last night from a Mediterranean seafood restaurant down the street. Today I ate more of it! Herring salad, tahini, and eggplant with flatbread.

Nothing wrong with that. That's just tapas or meze. My favourite kind of food. Lots of little bite size dishes with lots of different flavours. That's given me an appetite for some now. Going to look on deliveoo and see what I can find for tonight.

For some reason, I am absolutely starving today, so lunch break has been moved to right now: enjoying a toasted rye bread (one of those 'healthy' ones) sandwich, with butter, cheddar and prosciutto (which travelled in a care package from home). Will cook something later, after work. (Someone mentioned pizza a few posts above and I'm dying to have one. But hopefully I'll manage to stick to healthier choices... Hopefully...)

After me complaining a few weeks ago that my OH ate all the corned beef (which I thought he didn't like), I've had corned beef sandwiches for the last few days as he bought a large pack last time he went shopping. That's finished now, so thinking of something new for tomorrow.

Today's meal for me is venison burger, and today's beer to go with it is Ringwood's Boon Doggle.

I STILL have tahini left over...

49thand8th, if it's just tahini, may I suggest putting it on morning oats with a bit of brown sugar and cinnamon, or even a bit of cocoa/chocolate. It's one of my favourite things, foodwise. Also, it is incredible mixed with mascarpone and some sugar and served layered with fruit. (That idea is, of course, an Ottolenghi ripoff, it's a filling he makes for cookies, but it's great on its own too.)

Thanks! Oh, no, the tahini has some paprika and salt in it, so it wouldn't be good as a sweet breakfast. But I will make do!

Salad and some omelette-like egg muffins ... eggs, veggies, and a little cheese whisked together and then baked in muffin tins. Great way to use up assorted vegetables, and the extras can be reheated the next morning for breakfast.

Chicken omelette today, using up left overs from last night.
We’ve been doing a lot of that lately, making sure we don’t waste any food at all.

Lentil soup with rosemary croutons, open faced sandwich on rye bread with cheddar and prosciutto, pickled cucumbers
Chocolate Corny for dessert. (Don't judge...)

Ridiculously busy at work so all I've managed is some chicken and chorizo tortellini as they cook in a couple of minutes!

A 'rice bowl'. Which was actually cooked brown rice (seasoned with some dark soy sauce), topped with plenty of vegetables, some cooked (paprika, leeks), some fresh (cucumbers, carrots), tofu and spices - all assembled nicely in a bowl, hence the (Instagram) name. Dark chocolate with a little peanut butter for dessert.
