Just like the boy himself, this story never grows old, does it?

Price hike of £3 if you don’t want to be bothered by advertising but a price DROP of £3 if you’re willing to see the ads.
Crackdown on password sharing.
Still watching?

I'm enjoying the new series of Only Murders in the Building. I think it will be quite a theatrical season!

Cancel Disney plus is now trending on social media. Looks like people are saying the content being put out there is not worth it. I mean from what I hear from discussions of secret invasion and mandalorian season 3, I’m not surprised

That's right wing nut jobs who have turned on them over the last couple of years for going 'woke'.
It's half the price of Netflix which has been dire for the last 12 months, so it's staying in my house but NF is being shown the door.

That's right wing nut jobs who have turned on them over the last couple of years for going 'woke'. It's half the price of Netflix which has been dire for the last 12 months, so it's staying in my house but NF is being shown the door. Well I'm glad you're enjoying your Disney+, but it's already lost 4 million subscribers in the first quarter this year (https://www.theguardian.com/media/2023/may/11/disney-loses-4m-subscribers-amid-exodus-in-indian-market) and another 11.7 the second quarter (https://www.nytimes.com/2023/08/09/business/media/disney-earnings.html), partly because Disney stopped paying for the rights to stream cricket for those in India, and they're loosing money on it. They already taken off stuff like Willow and National Treasure series that barely anyone watched. And what have we got to look forward to later this year? Maybe people will subscribe once for Ashoka, Loki 2 and I am Groot, but people are getting tired of Marvel and Lucasfilm's output. And if their major cinema releases this summer have been box office failures (https://screenrant.com/disney-movies-summer-2023-box-office-bombs-disappointments/) what chance is there that they'll bring in subscribers when they come to the platform So lets see how many more right wing nut jobs they loose in the next few months. Point is, many people aren't finding that much value in Disney or Netflix. You can find way more value for free on Youtube. I certainly do.

YouTube Premium is the one subscription I would stick with if I had to choose. I get more value out of that than all the rest put together.

+1 on YouTube Premium
Without the ads YouTube is transformed, now that vlogs are becoming more and more professional I watch YouTube more than any other channel.

Well I'm glad you're enjoying your Disney+, but it's already lost 4 million subscribers in the first quarter this year. I don't really care about Disney's profit margin, I'm not a shareholder... I don't really like their business practices, especially with physical releases and don't even start me on what they have done with their dodgy Russian 3D exclusivity deals in the middle of an illegal invasion, but their streaming service offers me what I am looking for, when it stops doing so I will cancel.

The film and tv companies are now finally getting what they deserve. They followed the music industry down this streaming road even though they knew what a massive disaster that has been for everyone involved. I am glad the film and tv industry is finally doing something about it, but the YouTube dilema should've been sorted years ago...but alas, quick buck n all that.

I'm not sure if it's true or not, but I did read somewhere that a lot of the lost subscriptions was down to them losing the rights to show IPL cricket in India.

I’m angry with Disney. Mine has gone up to £10.99 a mth for the last 2nths without telling me. Disgusting. Don’t mind the £7.99 but not paying over a tenner. Should of atleast told me…

That’s not good chestwig , they should have sent you an email at least. Might it have gone into your junk mail folder? I got my email from disneyplus@mail.disneyplus.com on 1 December with subject “Important updates to your subscription plan”, hope that helps. I agree over £10 is too much and am reconsidering my subscription.

I paid for Disney+ annually and just got the email telling me that at renewal it will cost £110. Last year I paid £68 thanks to an offer via Amex. Have cancelled my auto-renewal and will wait for something I really want to see...

I highly recommend watching Shardlake - a four part drama, best described as a Tudor whodunnit. Arthur Hughes as Shardlake and Anthony Boyle as John Barak are sent by Thomas Cromwell (brief cameo by Sean Bean) to investigate a murder at a monastery. Lots of guilty looks and dark scenes. It’s an adaptation from a series of books so I hope there will be a series two.

I've been enjoying Only Murders in the Building. It's quite silly but I had forgotten how much I loved Martin Short. He's so great!

It had apparently been incredibly difficult to get the series made and took nearly a decade with the close support of C.J.Sansom before he passed. They were hoping it would be a hit, to move forward the momentum for a second season.

Have only watched the first episode but have enjoyed what I have seen of Under The Bridge. Lily Gladstone and Riley Keough are both very good as are the young actresses at the centre of the drama. Hopefully it will shape up to be as good as Dopesick which I thought was worth the cost of Disney Plus (I know it is now on the BBC iplayer).
