What have you done for your mum today? If you’re living with them was it brekkie in bed or maybe cooking the Sunday dinner later? And for those of us who would love to but can’t visit our mums, have you managed to anything from a distance?
Mine was running out of lipstick so I’ve sent her 3 lippies 💄💄💄from the 3 for 2 offer in Superdrug and a tube of Neutrogena handcream because her hands are in bits. And a moonpig card of course 😊.
Thats the first time I’ve bought lipstick, bloody hell thats a minefield isn’t it?. How many lipsticks in one online store?? She narrowed it down to pink but it still took me about an hour to choose 😨
Anyway she’s got them and is delighted. Just had a little chat which was emotional. Keep reiterating the rules, tell them we love them, tell them we’ll see them when we can.
Happy Mother’s Day.

I sent her flowers which she got yesterday, but unfortunately Royal Mail have let me down and her card has not arrived.
I'll Skype her later but that's the best I can do given the current circumstances.

With everything that's going on, I completely forgot today was mother's day.
I've ordered my mum a gin and tonic biscuit set from Biscuiteers, we're having a Microsoft Team chat with them and the rest of our family later too.
My mother-in-law's family are in self-isolation, so we're buying them a Disney+ subscription.

Lots of tech going on! My old mum can’t even manage a mobile phone! 😂

Thats the first time I’ve bought lipstick, bloody hell thats a minefield isn’t it?. How many lipsticks in one online store?? She narrowed it down to pink but it still took me about an hour to choose 😨 There is something so charming about the idea of you picking out lipsticks for your mum - based on your description of it - that I just had to say it! :) I've ordered my mum a gin and tonic biscuit set from Biscuiteers, we're having a Microsoft Team chat with them and the rest of our family later too. There's also something so endearing about Microsoft Teams serving a purpose that has nothing to do with business after my week of what felt like non-stop meetings coordinating people, explaining what buttons to click and when, what chat channel to join, how not to interrupt others in a group of 20... My family never celebrated Mother's day, plus my mum lives a few countries away at the moment, so there are no presents. But I might get her for a Skype chat, to have a cup of coffee "together". Thank you (everyone on here, but especially Burly with the topic) for the inspiration! :)

As I live with my mother seeing her on Mothers' Day wasn't a problem! Last Saturday on my way back from my last London theatregoing for the forseeable future I dashed into Waitrose at Kings Cross & bought her 2 orchids, as I had a feeling that flower shopping a week later might not be possible. The orchids spent a week self-isolating in a corner of the hall just in case! Fortunately I'd bought a card months ago. I cooked dinner this evening but that was more because it was my turn than specifically because it was Mothers' Day.

Still live at home (well now that uni’s no more for the forseeable) so made my mum turkey, sweet potato mash, cauliflower cheese and a greek salad, not a bad substitute for a restaurant meal if I do say so myself! Had to settle with a skype call to my Gran though but at least it’s keeping her safe.
