With various theatres and venues offering these streaming services hopefully the V&A might release some of their filmed archive productions.
I know for a fact that they have American Pyscho. It'd be great to see that again.

Wonder if they'll release Half a Sixpence. Pretty sure they recorded it and there was rumour it was going to be shown on the BBC over 2018/2019 new year period which never happened.

I've been thinking about this, but I think the V&A have the same 'issue' as the NT: although they have plenty of recordings, these were mostly not done to be shown anywhere. They were intended to 'chronicle' the productions, and save them for research purposes, but I'm not sure most people would find them to be of satisfactory 'standard' to watch on television/their laptops as entertainment. The NT has the advantage of being able to share recordings made for NT Live, which sadly has no equivalent in the V&A archive. Having said that: I've spent many hours in their archive, and still have a long list of recordings I'd love to see, so I would absolutely love it if they released a selection to be streamed! ('American Psycho' would be a great start, yes, please! Anything done by Goold would be terrific!) |

I was lucky enough to catch a performance if the original production after queuing for hours fir a return tickets.
I have also caught a screening if the filmed performance (not the performance I saw) at the V&A.
I remember at the time I was one of only about 12 people at the screening and walking out thinking how lucky I was to one of a handful of people in this whole city who knew it was on and had turned up.

Does anyone know what the next ALW musical is going to be? Also, the B'way livestream is going out pretty late at night UK time - I can't see any indication that the show will be available after the stream ends, any idea?

There’s going to be a charity concert streaming of Joseph featuring various past cast members. Date TBC.

Well we started trying to watch Curtains that I had ordered, on TV through its internet browser which works so seamlessly for all other streams I’ve enjoyed. But no joy with this sadly: no sound (I’ve not done my normal trick of muting it! 😀), and it then gives a timed out. Eventually tried on phone browser and it was fine - but two of us huddling around a small phone screen loses any hint of theatrical magic rapidly.😀
Still, technology has its issues and it’s a small issue in the grander scheme of things. And the money went to a good cause. Besides, I’ve got the reshowing of the Grey Gardens TV prog I recorded off Sky yesterday instead.

Fwiw I tweeted the V&A three weeks ago asking about doing what the NT were about to do. Didn't respond - I also suggested they just get Jez Butterwort to agree ..

In case someone might be interested in some plays to listen to, rather than to watch... Wilf Scolding, Anoushka Warden and Tom Mothersdale have started a podcast titled 'The Lockdown Project'. Basically, they got a number of playwrights - including Simon Stephens, Caryl Churchill, Clint Dyer, Robert Allan Evans and Luke Barnes - to donate their plays, some of which will be specifically written for this occasion. These plays will then be read by actors (obviously), in the form of a read-through. The first episode came out today, and it features Patsy Ferran and Sule Rimi, reading Fragments by Cordelia Lynn. Other episodes should follow each Tuesday at 11 AM. It can all be found here: The Lockdown Plays. The purpose of the project is to collect funds for St. Mungo’s, which you can do here if you'd like. |

I enjoyed "Curtains". Not up to the standard of the great Kander and Ebb classics but entertaining enough and my son and I laughed out loud quite a few times.

Cameron Mackintosh should arrange for streaming Miss Saigon, the 10th Les Mis and Moby Dick. Plus, who knows what other videos are hanging out in his cabinet?
I also wonder if Branagh will release the videos of the Branagh season at the Garrick.

It’s the TV drama version on Sky Atlantic from several years ago with Drew Barrymore and Jessica Lange. Well worth watching, especially for them both who are sublime. |

Apologies Tweet was not completely clear, should have followed the thread, as stated only available to pupils and teachers, always thought they had opened all to the Educational establishments.
Would love to have seen Streetcar and Cat, will maybe need to become an Educational Establishment.
