For 13 nights only Judi Dench live in conversation with Gyles Brandreth.
I Remember It Well 20 March – 4 April
Booked a front row ticket for £25, expectations is of something similar to the McKellen evenings only in the form of a staged conversation as it is over a number of evenings.

Very clever (and annoying for me) to announce this 1 year and 1 day after A German Life went on priority sale, my membership expired yesterday...

More excited about the next announcement for something that will presumably be mid-April to early July which will be forthcoming next week.

Got to love Dame Judi so will try and book this, probably be a bit of a bun fight next week when tickets go on sale. Cant stand Brandreth but guess will have to put up with him to hear and see Judi.

I always find these multiple runs of "conversations" a bit odd given the participants have to essentially have the same conversation every night for two weeks. And make it seem spontaneous - each time like they've never heard that question before or the related anecdote. Both performers are complete professionals and I'm sure that every night will be lovely, but apart from the joy of seeing Dame Judi (and Gyles) in the flesh, I'm not sure that I wouldn't prefer a good TV interview.

This is effectively a transfer from Kingston where they did it previously. Brandreth has a nice little niche there doing this sort of thing.

I wouldn’t get too excited about booking for this: I went to the Judi/Richard Eyre interview at the BFI 4 or 5 years ago and it was a bit...dull to be honest, I wouldn’t have thought Gyles Brandreth is going to bring anything special to spice up proceedings.

Well I have just purchased the advance membership which was only £15 and gives me a days advance booking. Im hoping to book for myself and friends and none of us what to be up in the gallery so I am hoping the stalls wont all be premium or too expensive. The e mail I got also mentioned a big announcement soon so maybe the membership will come in handy if that's something I also want to see

Fairly painless and got onto the website at 10am with a very short wait. Slight mess up at payment stage and I got charged twice but sorted out with credit card company now. For the date I wanted (24th March)all the centre stalls were gone with just one or two single seats at £90. Side stalls also gone but there were seats available side stalls near to the stage which is what I have gone for. The 2 galleries also had availability so think anyone booking tomorrow when it goes on general sale should not have a problem unless you want top price. There were also £25 restricted view seats still available. Just to give you an idea of prices: Stalls: Centre £90 (premium) side £62.50/£47.50 restricted £25 Gallery 1: £62.50/47.50 Gallery 2: £47.50/£35 Plus restricted @ £25 in the galleries.

I went to one of these at The Gielgud yesterday. Was really lovely. Lots of fun. Trevor Nunn joined for part the second half, and was enjoying reminiscing about dinners with Judi’s mum.
