Sadly he didn't make 100. Didn’t we all hope he would go on for ever?

How will we know how the story ends?
Very sad news. A true professional. I remember as a child thinking he was a boring nicely-nice sort, but all that changed as a teenager when I saw him in Mr Jolly Lives Next Door.

Sad news. I was wondering about his health when I saw I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue a couple of weeks ago and they were taking the mickey out of Just a Minute.

I've never gotten into JAM, which I think is too cerebral for my little brain, but Sale of the Century (and now, from Norwich, it's the quiz of the week) was a childhood favourite. And I'm almost certain I saw Nicholas Parsons, and a much younger Bonnie Langford, in Charlie Girl at the Opera House in MCR.
Jeremy Vine was talking about seeing him relatively recently, and how disappointed he was that he'd had to cancel a speaking engagement in Dubai...at the age of 96. It's that remarkable generation once again!

Hopefully there will be a programme to celebrate his life and career. Guests will have to speak for one minute without hesitation, deviation and repetition.
