I assume that the audience has to sign NDAs

I’m convinced Queen Bee is Sophie Ellis-Bextor. Denise’s speaking voice was unmistakable. It’s 100% Nicola Roberts. This week’s VT was all about she she couldn’t speak french... as in Girls Aloud’s ‘Can’t Speak French’ song. It’s definitely her, I’ve spent almost 20 years listening to her sing in a daily basis.

But they clearly show the unmasked singer performing in front of the audience, so how does that work? That's a good point. I read that Joel Dommett said it in an interview (which I haven't watched.) Just finished watching tonight's on catch-up, then saw your comment so had a quick look back at it. Pre-reveal there's lots of wide shots of the audience from various angles. Post-reveal it's all shot quite near to the stage, there's a couple of weird angles, and you only really see a small number of people between the stage and the 'judges'. There doesn't appear to be anyone on the opposite side of the stage by that little walkway they use to get backstage. Also FWIW I saw Curtains this afternoon and while I knew Jason Manford could carry a tune, he was a stronger singer by far than I think I've given him credit for. I’ve read the same interview where Joel has said it’s done without the audience... and last night’s episode really threw me because the audience clearly are there watching! That said, when the unmasked singer has performed ‘unmasked’, they have usually turned towards the panel and performed to them, rather than the audience, which I thought made sense if the audience wasn’t actually there. Maybe the production staff have been dragged along to fill in the audience seats for the unveiling now?

Maybe the production staff have been dragged along to fill in the audience seats for the unveiling now? That was my thought = they must bring in anyone who is hanging around on the production team to fill in the front few rows. I can't believe how much I'm liking this. I think it's the fact that it has some real 'stars' willing to dress up that makes it fun. e.g. Jake Shears looked like he was really enjoying being a unicorn!

I assume that the audience has to sign NDAs I'm sure I read that somewhere, after the first programme.

Did anyone get any closer to guessing Hedgehog’s identity? I know most are saying Jason Manford, but I’m still not 100% convinced that all of the clues fit. My husband suggested it might be Michael Crawford!

My husband suggested it might be Michael Crawford! I’m thinking it’s one of the two. I’m guessing the final 3 are probably Jason Manford, Katherine Jenkins and Nicola Roberts. All in all though, I think ITV did pretty well in terms of names for the first series - although a younger audience member might not have been able to work anyone out. I kinda wish the clues hadn’t been so blatant at times though.

Michael Crawford has a completely different voice
Manford is the only fit. Particularly the dying on stage at 8.30pm. That is Pirelli.
Crawford hasn't had a stage role like that.

I’m not too sure about Octopus as the clues seem to point to Sheree Murphy but I’d be very surprised, as the voice definitely sounds like a professional opera singer so must be Katherine Jenkins or Charlotte Church.

Really good final and a deserving winner! I hope for series 2 they change the format a little and have a live show over 6/7 consecutive nights - really make it event TV. If not, I’m avoiding online speculation!

I totally agree, an enjoyable (if slightly dragged out!) final and well deserved winner. I was skeptical at first but what I enjoyed about the show was there were no sob stories, no million pound record deal at stake or career to make, it was just an entertaining Saturday night show and a bit of fun.

I loved it. Great fun, a good line up and just plain bonkers! It became essential Saturday night viewing for me. I can't wait for series 2!
I'm currently watching series 3 of the US version (thanks to the tubular website - the eps are officially uploaded by TMS). They have 18 Masked Singers (3 groups of 6, with each group being whittled down to 3) then those 9 singers will compete in the normal (someone unmasked at the end of each ep) format.

I will admit to being slightly smug at having worked out Manford from very early on!

Such an impressive lineup and such a feel good show. No sob stories, no nastiness and lots of good old fashioned fun.
I do agree it would probably work better over consecutive nights due to all the internet sleuthing, but it was excellent Saturday night TV, even if I did know who lots of the celebs were by the end.

I think the calibre of some of the celebs was the most surprising thing. I had convinced myself it couldn’t be KJ simply because she’s KJ. Nicola’s clues confirmed her early on if you knew the name of a GA song, and the fact that her & Manford sounded just like themselves when singing also took away a bit of mystery. I gave it a wide berth apart from the last two eps, but on ffwd it was entertaining enough. Now that other celebs have seen the tone of it here and in the US I’m sure they’ll be desperate to be part of it. 🐙 🌲 🐝 🦊 🦄

I think the calibre of some of the celebs was the most surprising thing. I had convinced myself it couldn’t be KJ simply because she’s KJ. 100%. I was adamant it wasn't KJ just because she's too famous. Jake, Kelis and CeeLo were very impressive bookings too. Skin was an interesting and impressive booking. I just assumed it would all be reality stars, soapstars and the usual set that do the rounds. Alan Johnson really stood out as being a strange booking in this crowd. I think the way it was filmed was probably a major factor in getting these kind of names. It must have been filmed over a very short period of time, so less of a commitment for those taking part. Strictly used to do pretty well with booking big names but that seems to have dropped off. It must be a massive commitment to take part in a show like that.

KJ too famous?
Really?
She has been down the celeb reality show before with Dancing With The Stars
She is successful but not too famous for reality TV

In the Nicola Roberts/This Morning interview (referred toin the city of angels thread) they try to maintain the fallacy that they were singing live inside those masks. I mean... come on. Even the most gullible person wouldn’t believe that surely.

The new series starts on Boxing Day at 7pm.
Little did we know when the first series began that we'd all become masked by mid-summer!

Who is who then? I missed the first two acts so didn’t hear alien before the mask came off. Some sounded familiar but I’m useless at guessing. I liked Mo in the panel, fitted straight in.

Only one that I got was Alien. That northern twang in her voice was a give away for me. Shame she left, she would have been good and better than some of the others.
Although it seems far too obvious from the costume, think Swan is Darcy Bussell. Her stance and the fluttering wings look like she's been a swan before.
Not really got any clue for the others.
Really enjoyed this again. Glad they haven't changed much.

When Sausage went to the beach cafe it was described as Billie's Burger Bar and the caption was "We make the best burgers.. Because We Want To". Is that too obvious for Billie Piper?
