If The Masked Singer was live and had public voting, I'd understand the annoyance but it's not and really it doesn't matter. The annoyance from my side comes from the fact that it's becoming increasingly obvious that, at least in part, the order in which the performers are unmarked is in some way planned. It would be fair enough if they were open about this, but if the studio audience's input has no real bearing they shouldn't pretend it does. My guess for Eiffel Tower is Macy Gray, it certainly sounds a lot like her. |

Given the glut of talent shows & ‘people being voted off/celebrity learning a skill shows’ that have sprung up this century, I have no expectation of the results being in any way pure. If they aren’t manipulated in the early stages through initial selection, the producers build story around them and script the whole process as much as is possible. The only times that I’ve seen this fail is Will Young (who still went on to sell them a shed-load of records) or when Jodie won ‘I’d Do Anything’. It was either a very clever double bluff or the will of the public that won through over Camerons desire for something other than her ‘busty blowsy salt of the earth’ Nancy. Otherwise these things happen exactly how the producers want them to.

Leon Jackson (if you said "who", I don't blame you) is the most infamous example of that I can think of. There was an X Factor third place finisher (Ben something) who nearly walked off the show when he was told the winner's single, which was clearly tailored for the eventual winner rather than him.

Got to say that the masked singers brought their "A" game tonight, some spectacular performances particularly from Lamar as Cricket!
Lorraine Kelly really surprised me as Owl, does anyone know what the significance of the Russian flag in week 1 was?
Ellie Goulding referring to Danny Jones as "Danny from Mcfly" when she's dated Dougie Poynter and is fully aware of Jones' name was really funny.
Anyway, my remaining calls:

Air fryer is keala settle, I’m 99.9% sure. There were clues for sister act and waitress tonight. Dippy egg does seem to be Ed balls with some of the clues related to a football team he’s involved with or something. I was thinking Lindsey Lohan but she’s got more of a gravel to her voice, this just really really sounds like miley Cyrus, how much does her sister sound like her? Lemar, Danny, Alex, all 100% correct. I think it’s melodie but I wouldn’t know for sure. |
