I take it you didn't see the production at the Royal Opera House?! mostly great cast, big orchestra, great set but... At least you got to see it! We travelled down from Norwich, had a hotel booked and after the first ten minutes or so the production was halted. A torrential rain storm had flooded the back stage area. We all milled around in the bar for a while, before we were sent off into the night. Ticket refund only. We booked to see ITW at Regent's Park. Hotel etc. Got down there, rain, matinee abandoned! Luckily (for once), we were booked for the evening performance, which went ahead. Phew! Would it be rude of me to ask you keep the group informed of which date you book for? 😈

Well, I think Into The Woods probably won't require a "great director" as long as they stay faithful to the source material. After the film, I think there will definitely be some interest in this and it will be interesting to see who gets cast. I do think this would work terrifically well in the round however, the audience being the "woods" I was being polite

This isn’t breaking news... I posted about this almost a year ago.
It was due to open late this year, but obviously that all went wrong. Terry Gilliam to direct.

Oh good, yet another Sondheim revival I love a Sondheim revival too, but something other than Into The Woods might be nice.

I find Sondheim terminally dull. Bring forward "Local Hero" instead.

I cant think of many other shows that have been revived 4 or 5 times since it's West End premier, as well as having a big name movie made of it. Yes it's Sondheim's most accessible show, but there are plenty of others to choose from.

To all the anti sondheimers look at this is as a chance to save money

I can't see this starting in March when it's nearly December and it's not even been announced yet.

It would work well as a Christmas show as the OV can't trot out A Christmas Carol again, can they?
