Richard Easton, the Canadian actor who enriched stages in London, New York, and elsewhere, has died in New York. I worked with him many times and, before that, saw how his great talent adorned any stage that he appeared on. He was a kind and generous man as well as a great actor. His awards included the Tony Award for Best Actor in a Play for his performance as A.E. Housman in The Invention of Love (2001).

A good life. Remember him from the bbc series The Brothers in the 70s. Saw him in the Branagh Shakespeare triple header then at the Old Vic about ten years ago. RIP

He was in an eighties Doctor Who as a Concorde pilot and on the DVD commentary the regular cast have plenty of nice things to say about him.

I remember him as the Ghost in the RSC Hamlet with Roger Rees in 1984.
