I was in an online queue for about half an hour, managed to get tickets, went to the payment page and it dropped out saying Bad Gateway Error. So, I rang the Box Office and after about fifteen minutes it was answered and a very nice Box Office guy said my tickets were still held in my account and so I paid for them over the phone. He did say they were having some problems with so many people online queueing for tickets.
This is the second time in about a month when I’ve online queued for tickets (last one was the Mayflower Theatre, Southampton’s new system)where there’s been problems.

I gave up initially but then logged back on at 3pm and sailed through!

Just to say that if you see the Time Out or whatever message, refreshing does work for once. At each stage (choosing tickets, putting them in basket, going for payment) it seemed to time out and there was an error message, but each time I refreshed and it worked - though often took minutes. I nearly left the site to start again three or four times, but thankfully didn't. I can't see any special cheap seats - front three rows are not on sale, or they have already been picked up by early buyers (which I doubt). Again, there is the frustrating question. Do I book early to get the best £50.00 seats or wait in the hope that the front three rows will be that price or the next price up? I was just on the phone to the box office about something else and asked when those front seats will be on sale for Oedipus. They said they haven't been told by the producers how those seats will be sold - could be kept for day seats, lottery, under 30s or just put on normal sale at a later date, but no info as yet.

I’m thrilled people got thru to box office. I called after struggling to get tix in the Byzantine system online and found the line closed. Eventually the site seemed to cough into clarity and I got a couple of tix. Silly money but am assuming will look cheap as the dynamically stun the punters as time goes on.

They’re now doing £30 tickets for under 30s — there’s tons available. Loads in the stalls too, not just the back of the theatre.

This hasn't sold nearly as well as they thought it might work I'd hang on for offers if I were you...

Haha I'm the opposite, I've booked the Old Vic over this one. Mainly because of the cast at the old Vic. Love Indira, and don't like Mark Strong

I've booked for this one over the Old Vic's one. I’m the same. This one appeals more than the other.

No artistic merit consideration from me. Old vic concession won me over - economics was the deciding factor.

I’m the same. This one appeals more than the other. Icke and Manville swung it for me. Manville alone swung it for me. What a role! Going to double this up with Signourney in The Tempest.

I want to see both. I’ve booked the OV but I’m waiting for rush tickets for this.

This is mid-October, OV the following March. Wyndham's is Oct-Jan, OV is Jan-March, so Oct and March are just the furthest apart you could see them. Even so, I think only extreme theatre enthusiasts would see both. Most people I know can barely get their heads around the idea that I'd see the same play more than once in a decade, never mind within a few months or weeks, and even though translations and updates can make versions very different.

fwiw, I was talking abou my bookings and, indeed, you can see them 6-months apart.
Plenty of people go to the same production again, some even multiple times; sometimes because you want to to get a stronger grasp, sometimes for the pure pleasure.
I suspect/hope the contrast between Ella Hickson's interpretation and David Icke's will enlighten.

Lyn Gardner's review is interesting (I had to scroll down using keyboard arrows) >>

Well, once I have decided on the dates for the trip I've been dreaded to go and see prices for this on the webpage. Shame I'm not 30ty anymore.. Is anyone aware of any planned day/rush seats please?

More tickets released, including an under 30 plan and front stalls.
Also a full cast

Had a minor technical error on their web.. looking at the map now nothing is showing for the very front row. Row B is a regular price.

The front row, except the two outer seats have just gone on sale for performances until Sat 19th October. No great bargain at £45 previews then gradually rising to £55 for Sat 19th. Two outer seats I assume will be day seats/rush seats?
