That's normal for the Old Vic, alas, jling . It's why board members swap info about the cheaper seats so often at this theatre. True, the website did act funny like you said. Got me panicking for a minute there. Also sorted my tickets. Do you know how many we can get?

Well done. No, I don't know if there is a limit. I think members are limited to 4 anyway, though. Public, I've not seen anything stated. Could you share how many PWC seats are left for the Friday 10th evening performance?

Sorry for such a beginners question, but i’ve never been to the Old Vic before: is there anywhere that I definitely shouldn’t try to buy a ticket? Or anywhere where you can usually get a cheaper (but still good) ticket?
Sorry for the questions, I really want to get a ticket on Tuesday so I’m trying to plan whereabouts beforehand!

London theatre direct has a 24 hour early access offer. I just booked to avoid the bunfight tomorrow.

Is it worth getting these tickets as they seem pretty drastically marked up compared to just buying through the Old Vic website tomorrow (unless I'm missing something)? Obviously booking today avoids the chaos of open booking tomorrow but for a top price that's £15 more it seems like a rip-off.

It's the old thing - you are paying extra for the convenience of skipping the line. A bit like priority memberships except this is a one-off of course. There was a lot available on the Old Vic site, but if you have your heart set on particular dates and seats and can't make booking opening time or are not prepared to wait or chance it, it may be worth treating yourself. May be worth using that page to see what is available for when you plan to go, then take it from there. Totally your own feeling, I guess. Thanks. There's a few dates I can go to so I'll chance it tomorrow. It's too much of an increase for me to justify this but it's useful for those who want the option so fair enough.

How well can you see the actors’ expressions from around the 3rd/4th row of the Dress Circle? Anyone had some experience there?
Those tickets are more in my price range but i’d be upset if I can’t really see their expressions!

The London Theatre presale would be good if it worked, but every seat I click on, no matter what date, is apparently gone.
I have a meeting when the ticket sale starts tomorrow, so may have to resign myself to day seating this one...

So maybe the price mark-ups were worth it because right now i can't even get on the website let alone in some kind of queue.

I got through the queue in 12 minutes and easily bought the cheap seats behind the pillar on the back row of the stalls.
Pretty happy with that tbh.

After about 7 times of being told they couldn't take my call I'm finally on hold. Fingers crossed it's not a crazy wait because the lowest number between me and my mum is in the 6000s (I've never resorted to phone booking but maybe it's the way to go with these busy shows from now on).

I was 226 and got in at about 1218- so they are clearly limiting access quite severely - so don't give up hope if it seems to be moving slowly. At first glance still a decent amount of seats available particularly later in the run. Top price £65 down to £20 for restricted view stalls and side dress/bayliss. Premium seats from around £90-£125 - pricing and number of these seems to depend on which performance.

I'm not doing anything else today as thankfully I've got no lectures so I definitely won't be closing the booking page but I'm putting more faith in the call right now. Fingers crossed.

I started in a position in the high 3000s (having been registered before 12 for the lottery position). Still in the same position I was in at 12, so this one isn't moving fast.
