Literally nobody needs to worry about the cast. The tilting lighting up mega revolving chessboard will be the star! It's even more key than turbans are to Sunset. Btw pretty though she may well be, can Mans act? He has appeared in Swedish productions of Grease and Romeo and Juliet: the Musical (who among us doesn't maintain a shrine to the works of Gérard Presgurvic?) , so your guess is as good as mine. The ability to act is (ahem) not always necessarily the very highest priority in casting those particular shows.

The American needs you to play arrogant, self-absorbed, cocky and petulant. I am sure most pop stars can give that sort of thing a good stab!

(I have a recording with Zubin Varla which sounds more like Pity The Audience...)

Shame that Adam Lambert isn’t available for this... I nearly hyperventilated when I saw this....that'll teach me to read stuff, blurry-eyed before the second cup of coffee. I'd listen to him sing the Yellow Pages. Heck! I'd even go back to Hamilton if he were in it....

No, couldn’t give Two Fux about this one...

Hey, even I have heard of Adam Lambert and I stopped caring about pop music 20 years ago.
Not sure if I'd book for him though... Måns Zelmerlöw though, THAT would be an inspired choice. I don't even like the guy much (I can't stand the trashy noisy plastic pop Sweden pours all over the ESC every year), but he's known enough in the community by now, he has musical theatre creds and he feels new and fresh. Heck, I would probably book for him.

Well I personally would LOVE Adam Lambert to be in it! What a voice!!
Gutted I'm too skint for Queen tickets, so this'd be a nice alternative 😉

Things have really got bad when we’re having a discussion about people who AREN'T in the cast of Chess.
Do you think the Grade/Linnit production office is reading this and having a right old laugh?

No, I think they are kicking themselves because they didn’t think of asking Adam Lambert.....and I’m only assuming that his commitments with Queen rule him out of this. He may well be their pop star! Praying 🙏

Have we now actually exhausted the list of people who could be in it?
No idea what language the last couple of posts are in!

I’ve had to look up who Cliff is.
I didn't think this thread could be any more desperate than the Wicked or Hamilton thread but I reckon we’ve made it...

Anyway. My only experience of Chess is the concept album and that last Revel Horwood actot/musician tour at The Lowry (where I bumped into Alan Carr at the tram stop, not that it means owt). But whoever is in the ENO production I’m bloody excited for it.
I’m annoyed at the lack of casting info but im hanging on for something good.

Now he's definitely too old for the part.

They should have had a cast announcement before Valentines day - I'm sure many people would try to get tickets for their loved one's favourite performer as a nice surprise gift! It is after all a love story!

Rumour mill on Facebook is saying:
Tim Howar as Freddie Michael Ball as Anatoly Alexandra Burke as Svetlana Cassidy Janson as Florence Murray Head as The Arbiter
Quite how true though, lol.
