Like the one that was/wasn’t on the 1990 tour starring Rebecca Storm and Maurice Clarke? Whatever happened to them? Choreographed by Anthony Van Laast who never worked again...I just fell through a rip in time.

Unless something has changed recently, the original concept was meant to be something along the lines of the Broadway revival of Pippin from a few years ago...

They were auditioning circus performers for the ensemble Interesting. There's trapeze work in the Swedish production, although it's set against a piece of music that has never been used in any version based on the London or Broadway scripts.

Did said revolving chessboard, which I saw and loved, every misbehave and go barmy or just refuse to move or injure anyone. I wonder what is the most temperamental piece of stage machinery....any offers?

I must say I am quite fascinated by how much emotion this show is bringing. I have never heard about it until I saw this thread, but this might be due to growing up in a different country.

Saw Starlight once in London and the bridge was broken and fixed on position. Wrote to theatre (by letter, pre email lol) and they gave me and my mate free top price tickets to come again. Wouldn't happen now!

Wouldn't happen now! I have had a few free tickets like that...the Bridge broke in Saturday Night Fever during previews and we ‘had to leave before the end’ or would have missed our train (not strrrrictly true) and I once attended a tour performance of Tommy in Woking that was so shambolic I had to complain as we had travelled for ti-ime to get there. Both resulted in free tix for another performance, both of which were much better. Fair enough Hamilton might not have the space to squeeze in complaint comps but if a product doesn’t deliver it shouldn’t matter what it is...replace or refund.

Wouldn't happen now! I've had it happen a few times. The bus in Priscilla refused to work and we were given new tickets. Then I saw the Joseph revival and the set failed during the interval so act two was performed concert style yet they still gave us full refunds

Gosh I hope it's not the DC cast. They are all fabulous (though Raul is behaving rather strangely..and got manboobs)..my biggest gripe is that they all try to outsing each other with over the top modulations. I love Karen Olivo, she sings the score wonderfully. I can't stand Ramin Karimloo. I have no idea what he is doing. It surely is not singing. Every melody line and the transitions between notes are off key. He is always above the note which creates whole new melodies. Bizarre. And then every once in a while he makes a loud, straight, long "Moo". I really don't get the point of that. Were there no actual singers available for that role? Raul is trying to sing in a key that is too high for him in those clips. It feels forced and strained. These guys really need to go back to the basis of singing.

They also auditioned some male ‘pop stars’ (rather faded ones), however I have no clue which roles they were going for as I don’t think they have the vocal chops for the American/Russian.
