I'm away then so won't be able to go which is a shame as I really enjoyed seeing the show at Drury Lane. Mind you I don't remember too much apart from the flying and a song about washing.

Yes! ‘Dirty Laundry’ is the only song that has stayed the course for me.

Well, Cameron Mackintosh has managed to make his way into my savings... Can't believe this is being announced day after Sondheim's Old Friends. Nevertheless, I'm very excited to see this and to hear this score live and what a treat to have it take place a few days after my birthday. I would've loved to have seen Joanna Riding but alas, I was too young for this - hopefully Maria Friedman will bring back some original cast members for an encore or something.

Joanna Riding was a revelation in this, and I’m not just talking about her abs. I feel the show was massively underrated but sadly opening it at Drury Lane sunk it. It just wasn’t a big enough show to fill that theatre. It was a much tighter show at the Prince of Wales but sadly as they rushed it in there, it looked cheap as chips.

I remember there was a rumour at the time (probably apocryphal!) that it was penciled in for the Prince Edward but the 'filler show' that took the theatre in 1999 did slightly better than expected and so Witches moved to Drury Lane!

V short queue for tickets. Prices seem quite extravagant but hey-ho.

Id have thought this would be ripe for a regional full revival. I've always expected Curve to do it but nothing seems doing.

Indeed, demand was lower than anticipated. No £1k tickets here but plenty of tickets still available compared to the Sondheim show. I was no41 in the queue when I logged in at 10:02am and bagged a nice premium seat in the stalls. I was also in a meeting at the time and pretending to be typing notes whilst I entered my card details haha.

The trouble for me is that these concerts are always midweek. Never going to happen for me.

Had this on my list for ages, so glad ill get to see it, even if it is just in concert.
Any sense of whether this will be more like Bonnie & Clyde in Concert or more like Camelot in Concert?

Got a couple of seats in the DC. I hope they cast better than Terrera for the female leads

I hope they’ve got someone on standby for him as he seems to pull out of most jobs…

Anyone know how old the three are meant to be. Heard rumours about Carrie Hope Fletcher but thought she might be a bit young?

But Michael Crawford was the original star until... creative differences.

Anyone know how old the three are meant to be. Heard rumours about Carrie Hope Fletcher but thought she might be a bit young? Possibly for Jennifer? I would say the Witches need to be (and look) much older - mid 30s and upwards. Very curious to see who they get! But Michael Crawford was the original star until... creative differences. I remember that - think it was reported on Playbill Online at the time, but obviously changed before the formal casting announcement. From the rumours of the level of creative control he subsequently got on Dance of the Vampires, I can’t imagine Cameron would have allowed it…

Genuinely can't think of anything id like to see less really than Carrie doing Waiting for the Music to Begin.
Would honestly love to have Jo Riding, Josefina Gabrielle and Rebecca Thornhill all come back and play the roles 20 years on

I did the show almost 10 years ago so for me, it is a very personal connection. I have booked and really looking forward to this!

Would love to see her Sukie again (with Loose Ends reinstated).

Oh I think a special encore with original cast members will definitely happen. As for who the witches this time around will be, I think they will be "names". Cynthia Erivo, Aimie Atkinson and Alice Fearn could be contenders?

Am I right in thinking some of the original witches may not be delighted by the prospect of Ms Friedman directing them?...

I don’t think they would get Lucie Arnaz over, and doubt Ian McShane would wish to revisit the show. No idea about the nature of any alleged disagreements from 21 years ago, but would love to see Jo Riding there in some capacity - ditto Rosie Ashe, Stephen Tate etc…
