Initial casting has been announced for this at Cadogan Hall next year! Created a new thread to avoid confusion with the Hope Mill production. www.whatsonstage.com/london-theatre/news/ricardo-afonso-lesli-margherita-zorro-concert_49935.html"Ricardo Afonso (Jesus Christ Superstar) will star as the titular Zorro and Diego, alongside Lesli Margherita (who will reprise her Olivier Award-winning role of Inez) and four-time Olivier nominated actress Emma Williams (Half A Sixpence) who will also reprise her role of Luisa. Further casting is to be announced."

I'm booked. Love these Sunday night concert performances and secured my fave front row seat.
Also on sale direct from Cadogan Hall without the Agency commission.

LMTO + Emma Williams + Ricardo Afonso = booked instantly!
I know nothing about the show or the score but have also come to love these concerts at Cadogan so look forward to whatever this turns out to be.

Booked! I think I saw Ricardo play the role about 10 years ago. Was it the Garrick theatre?

Booked! I think I saw Ricardo play the role about 10 years ago. Was it the Garrick theatre? It was at the Garrick, 2008-9, but Ricardo Afonso wasn't in the cast. Matt Rawle played Diego.
I'm very excited that both Emma Williams & Lesli Margherita are reprising their roles. I adored Zorro, saw it 22 times, & have been waiting a decade in the hope of a revival.

Looking back - 29th March 2008 - Zorro
I got an upgrade and my 2 thoughts back then were,
1 - Much more entertaining than a Gypsy Kings musical has any right to be. 2 - This will surely make a star out of Matt Rawle.
Ho hum on that!

Did Earl Carpenter play the father 10 years ago? My memory, which is not so good nowadays, is vaguely telling me he might've done. Or was it someone else ?

I believe he did for the pre-West End tour, though I didn't see it myself. In London it was Jonathan Newth, who was certainly more believable age-wise as Matt Rawle's father than Earl Carpenter would have been.

Dawnstar, thank you for the clarification. That means I never saw EC in Zorro. But anyway, I really enjoyed the show back then.

I've also remembered that Earl Carpenter was busy doing a stint in Les Mis at the same time Zorro was on in the West End. I first saw Les Mis a month after Zorro closed & he was my first Javert (sadly every Javert I've seen since has been a bit disappointing by comparison!). Now I'm on my laptop & have checked my notes and only Matt Rawle, Lesli Margherita & Nick Cavaliere did both the tour & the WE of the 6 leading roles. I wonder whether Nick Cavaliere might also come back for the concert?

What happened to Matt Rawle? High profile wise he did Martin Guerre, this and I saw him in Evita and the Aspects tour. Not heard of him since
Is he still treading the boards?

He did Light in the Piazza in Leicester, then Pippin at the Menier, then the Cabaret tour. Then he vanished until he and played the lead in Anything Goes in Sheffield in 2015, then carried on on it's tour which got cancelled after a few venues. I've not heard of him since.
It's a shame - I used to follow him a fair bit.

I saw him in The Light In The Piazza, which was on not long after Zorro finished. Unfortunately I found him pretty unbelievable as a supposed-to-be 20 year old.

Anyone heard any other casting rumours for this? Think I'll probably go for this over Pirate Queen on the same night, but waiting to see if they add any names to the line up.

A little JCS reunion going on over at Cadogan Hall, but no mention of a Garcia yet!

And Zubin Varla was Judas in JCS at the Lyceum, back in the day and so good on the recording. But his voice was so great when he was in Fun Home last year.

A little JCS reunion going on over at Cadogan Hall, but no mention of a Garcia yet! Unless he happens to be otherwise employed on that day, I can't think why they don't just get Nick Cavaliere to reprise the role. He's still working - I saw him in Edmund de Bergerac last year & Aladdin a couple of years before - and I don't see that it matters that he's a decade older given Emma Williams & Lesli Margarita both are too.
