I don't like the book of Carousel (so freaking sad!), but having seen the Concert version at Cadogan Hall in May the music just blew me away. I'm in.

Delighted by this news, I usually only attend an afternoon performance there (£25 senior matinee deal) but Carousel will be a must see at least once in the evening too as it's my second favourite musical of them all. Travelled all the way to Redditch from Kent to see an amateur production last year. The Cadogan Hall concert version was awesome.
I hope they don't strip it down too much though, the reference to "innovative approach" suggests it won't be a traditional format like they did for Seven Brides For Seven Brothers.

It's one of my favourite musicals so it's a yes from me.
And totally a yes to Hadley playing Billy again thank you.
I'll also put in a request for Rosalie to play Julie but that's just because I'd like the married couple to do it.

I've a suspicion not. Reason being that R&H guard licences very closely. They only got "Sound Of Music" after much negotiation, and did that brilliantly. My guess is we will get more of the same here. But then again look at the Oklahoma that is currently playing in New York |

Never seen Carousel and generally find R&H very dated (yes, I know this is a terrible thing to say!)
But Drew McOnie is IMHO the most talented currently working choreographer; the guy is just extraordinary.
So I will definitely see this .

I always thought this would be a good show for the Open Air theatre, however I feel like I was the only one who left JCS at the Barbican a bit underwhelmed, the choreography being one of the weaker points for me.

Yes I find him very hit and miss. Loved In the Heights, but the dance in King Kong was all wrong for the show. And JCS was way too fussy for me. Much like Andy Blankenbuehler’s work on Hamilton - must there be a different gesture for EVERY lyric. Starts to look like a signed performance for the deaf..
But different strokes as they say..
Hanging on to my memories of Janie Dee with Clive Rowe at the National. And Kennith MacMillan’s ballet. And THAT orchestra....

Surprised that Evita isn't returning as Jesus Christ Superstar did, considering that Evita is their fastest show ever.
When Regent's Park did The Sound of Music several years back, they did the near impossible and that was raise the bar for that show, it was utterly brilliant. Hopefully lightning strikes twice.
I am up for a real nice clambake!!

A Hadley Fraser and Rosalie Craig combo would be a lovely shout for this, but I'd love to see Laura Michelle Kelly or Scarlett Strallen give Julie Jordan a go - alas I'm not sure how likely either may be...

This is such a dull uninspired choice- they will need to majorly overhaul it to make it work for today’s audience. I saw the recent dreadful NYC production and it exposed all of the shows flaws.
