I thought Moulin Rouge was chasing the Piccadilly? Not due until 2021 though. I can see Pretty Woman having a fairly successful run over here.

Brilliant news...soundtrack is fantastic...hope we get Sam Barks in the lead! Savoy would be ideal.

I don’t think any existing announced shows will affect where this ends up. No opening date has been stated yet so it could follow ‘Sunday’, ‘Come From Away’ or go into the Piccadilly. All of ATG’s other houses are either too small or housing long runners.

How about the Playhouse theatre?

Nah, just shy of a thousand capacity. Unless every ticket was £250 it’d take a while to break even.

Just had my email through. Tickets will go on sale “in the next week or two”. I can’t see this being the sort of show that would have tickets going on sale over a year in advance which makes me suspect it will be the Piccadilly rather than the Savoy (that’s if it’s definitely going to an ATG venue). Maybe they mean this coming winter. As a “benchmark” for this type of show, 9 to 5 and Waitress announced in Autumn 2018 for Jan/Feb 2019 openings.

Not sure there is a benchmark; Neither Waitress nor 9 to 5 were ‘Titanic’ on release were they? ‘Pretty Woman’ was an enormous film. I remember the day it came out on VHS; one of the first £12.99 movies. It’ll be massive, regardless of quality.

ATG Priority Membership email arrived, saying booking within the next 2 weeks. Following it to the site it said Autumn 2020. My guess is also the Savoy for this. I think you may be right, I just didn't want to believe it because then where does Mean Girls go

No ATG email as usual despite being a Theatre Card holder. So frustrating! Relax Steve, it was just some words on a white background. There was a bit at the bottom in tiny writing *nobodytellsteve, but other than that nothing exciting.

Are you both opted in to getting mail, and selected your "home theatre"? I haven't had the e-mail either but I thought I had opted in to e-mails and chosen my home theatre when I renewed my last ATG card as the membership benefits changed. I've just logged in online to see if I have done this but can't find anywhere to do it (again)! ATG sure make it easy for members...

I got the e mail and so listened to the music this morning. It's not bad but not something I want to book a full year in advance for.

Are you both opted in to getting mail, and selected your "home theatre"? Yes, I'd done that in the past and emailed ATG about never receiving emails without success. There doesn't seem to be anywhere on the ATG website under My Account to select your marketing preferences anymore.

I've had no email, but as I am on Yahoo, that's hardly surprising this morning!

Are you both opted in to getting mail, and selected your "home theatre"? Yep. I’ve even rung them up to make sure everything is set up properly and it is (apparently). And when I told them I’m not getting the mails I just got vague pacifisms like she didn’t believe me or thought I was a bit daft or something.

I remember the day it came out on VHS; one of the first £12.99 movies. It’ll be massive, regardless of quality. I saw this on broadway and thought it was enjoyable but so average. I don’t see it being massive but it’ll definitely sell on its name and I can see it filling the 9 to 5 hole. I wonder if Sam Barks will even want to reprise the role after already doing a year in the show? I thought she was good in the role but I wasn’t particularly wowed. I can see them going for more of a celeb name to sell tickets, so my money’s on Amber Davies!!

where does Mean Girls go Adelphi? Given that PW will probably not go there. It’s possible that Sonia Friedman pencilled the Savoy for Mean Girls but got a better offer for another theatre. Happened with Charlie and the Chocolate Factory which was going to the Palladium and switched to Drury Lane
