So on the website, it appears the show has secretly extended once again from January 2017 to May 2017! Never a good sign when a show extends that far!

Looking to book for May to see Kinky Boots and noticed from the website that Matt Henry is off during that period. Anyone know what his understudy is like? Ive seen the show with Matt but the family i'm taking would be none the wiser if he was not performing. His understudy is Callum Francis and he is amazing! He puts his own unique spin on the role and has a beautiful voice, trust me, you won't be disappointed. Agreed! Callum Francis is stunning in this role, so much so that i'm going to book again specifically when he is due on as Lola. You won't regret it if he is performing on the night you go.

I FINALLY got Kinky last night!
I am a MASSIVE Cyndi Lauper fan (always have been ever since she wanted to have fun all this yeas ago) and so watery intrigued by this show, immediately sining up as a Facebook fan with the free download of The Sex is in the Heel.
I also have the Broadway cast recording and was outside the theatre on opening night.
A friend was from Australia was in town so I went with her last night and her sister who lives here.
I had also seen the film so knowing the storyline and the music I was good to finally see the visual.
This was a great, fun show. Callum Francis was on a Lola.
All the cast were working really hard and at one point when Charlie's friend and two other guys were playing the guitar in the bar, I couldn't help but feel that it had a Once feel about it.
I am in no way a fan of drag, but these guys were good. Extremely so. The dancing and way the whole cast, including the ensemble thew themselves into their performances certainly won the audience over with people clapping and giving a standing ovation.
I am so pleased to have finally see this.

I saw Callum on as Lola too and thought he was brilliant. My only thought was as he was so very pretty & feminine it took a bit of the bite out of his story being a boxer & my fathers son for me. I like Matts masculinity and rawness in those moments. But that's only a small thing he really does bring his own thing to the role. I love it when Understudies are able to do that rather than have to be as close to the person they cover as possible!

How fantastic for him. Hope I get to see him before he jets off. If that lottery didn't hate me . . .

I wonder if they had issues casting Lola/Simon locally hence why they've got Callum Francis? I know that the Australian production will be using the set from the Toronto production as Hal Luftig, one of the producers of KB mentioned in a podcast.

Exciting! I didn't like the show at all when I saw it (although I thought the majority of the cast were brilliant, the elements just didn't all come together for me), I'd be interested in seeing a totally new cast. Especially as I loved the cast album. I've not seen Killian as Charlie yet, but my sister wants to see the show so maybe I'll get to before he leave (if he is leaving).

The set design will be the same, but as a way of reducing start up costs, it is sometimes cheaper to re-use a set from a closed production than build one from scratch.

It's not that strange, Callum doing Australia. Don't forget, Matt himself originally was talked abiut to be the replacement for Billy Porter and not the West End lead.

That awkward moment when they use the West End cast for the Broadway commercials...

Not awkward at all, it's quite common for them to recycle footage for other productions

Has Amy Lennox left the show? Someone else is playing Lauren in that commercial.
To be fair to B.Way, when the show was in previews the West End used the B.Way cast for their commercial.

I think it's Sophie Isaacs in the trailer? But Amy hasn't left as far as I know.
