My guess is it will close in London around the three year mark so August/September next year, ready for the tour to begin late 2018/early 2019. With Matt Henry returning for the final 2/3 months.

I wouldn’t be surprised if it closes on Broadway first before London. I imagine RUG and Nederlander won’t close it at the Adelphi until they have a firm replacement for it, it might be able to going until January 2019 but September or October 2018 wouldn’t be a surprise either

I can see it running until the end of the current booking period (September 2018) but not extending, unless the tour is delayed and there isn't a show lined up to go into the Adelphi. It'll be a shame for it to close in London but a three year run is a good run.

I'm just glad to see it make it to the end of this year, especially as someone posted at the start of this year it wouldn't make it to the end of this year, as though they had some inside knowlage. Its nice to see that this wasn't the case!

Its nice to see that this wasn't the case! Yes but you know full well what a fickle mistress the industry can be! It could well have been that at the beginning of this year, it looked like Kinky Boots might not make it to the end, but things turned around! I know for a fact that in September last year, I was told that Kinky Boots would close by October this year as the Regent's Park revival of Jesus Christ Superstar was going into the Aldephi (I think I posted about it over a year ago, but didn't name any names), although nothing was confirmed. Obviously that didn't work out for whatever reason, but at the time it was a possibility! But I also agree that it's nice to see it's not going anywhere just yet!

I would quite like Callum to lead the tour. I regret not seeing him in the role on London after seeing some promo bits and pieces for the Australian production.

Sidenote, when did they announce it had extended its booking period until September 8, 2018? Did I miss the memo? 😂

It's probably staying in London as no new show is interested in the Adelphi at the moment. A lot can happen in the next 11 months. I think Broadway will close before London though although probably by a few months similar to Once and Jersey Boys.

Honestly cannot see this show supporting a touring and West End market - it’s no Wicked/Lion King in fame or following. If the right show comes along I can see the Adelphi going elsewhere, and it’ll be like Beautiful with West End to quickly out on tour, or maybe a little overlap but nothing extensive.

Jersey Boys toured concurrently with the West End but that was cheap to run. Likewise with Chicago and Blood Brothers. Matilda is still selling great that it can sustain a tour and a West End production.

I think it'll run into early 2019 and then peace out. I agree about the Broadway production though, I imagine that will close just before or around its 5th anniversary this coming April.

I reckon Broadway will be September 2018 or January 2019, i think it was closing in January 2018, they would have announced it by now.

I heard Dear Evan Hansen as interested in the Adelphi at the end of 2018. Can’t remember where I heard it for the life of me.

The Adelphi seems a bit big for DEH considering it is playing at a theatre similar in capacity to the Phoenix or Savoy. The Noel Coward would be my choice for DEH but it wouldn't be surprise me if they went for the Phoenix.

So pleased this looks like it's staying in London whilst also touring. I know a lot can happen before September but at least there's real hope of it staying put whilst also touring. Hopefully it's coming to Bristol so I can catch it without having to travel.

Mmmmm....as much as I love Kinky Boots, a lot can happen between now and September 2018. I would have thought it would have run it's course in London by then - after having a very good run. Taking the London set and costumes on tour immediately makes economic sense.
Do we think the name of the show alone will sell it on tour or will they have to cast some faces "off the telly" (ex soap stars?) for the "provinces"?
