Get it into the Open Air Theatre. It will be great to hear the opening refrain of "There's a bright golden haze on the meadow" just before the heavens open and the performance is abandoned.

Loved it when I saw it on Broadway earlier this spring. This production is not going to be everyone’s cup of tea but I think it will succeed if it’s in the right space.
I feel for the Chister cast, hearing that Oklahoma is coming to the WE only to find out later it’s not your production.

The stage at Circle In The Square must be twice the size of the Menier's and even that feels cramped.

Having been sceptical and listened to the cast album I'm now very excited should this transfer. I think the new arrangements are beautiful and a welcome change. I'm really not sure where this will go though either!
It will be funny seeing all of the older generation in the audience. I feel there will be some confused expressions.

When I saw it on Broadway some old people “this isn’t the real Oklahoma”. Anyway, it’s incredible. We should only be so lucky if it transfers here. I would love to see it in an even smaller space than the Circle.

The only other theatres I could see it working for Oklahoma! is the Dorfman or going further a field maybe the Roundhouse?

Just downloaded it to listen to later and clicked on a few tracks. Had a hint of Kyle Riabco about it. He recently did an album of reimagined Richard Roger's songs and there is a similarity.

Could go in a traditional theatre reconfigured as has been done at the Old Vic and the Playhouse?

I think with the Bridge since it is a flexible theatre, you could recreate the staging without too much bother. It’d be a bit trickier to do without sacrificing capacity like other playhouses

Done well by the BBC, sung brilliantly at Grange Park, now done well at Chichester- i have either seen them , or heard the biggest songs sung on BBC R2, do i want to see another American, version - not really.
Its like reading the Woking coming shows list that just dropped through my letterbox - a string of decent musicals - all but one of which I have seen on tour in the last few years.Hows about something good tahts new, or soemthing good thats not been done recently?

The Troubadour theatres at Wembley and White City are infinitely flexible, and with two auditoria at White City, that could be possible. Ohhh I forgot about those venues. I guess they need a saysomething piece to help them get established. Oklahoma could be a great vehicle or surrey (with a fringe on top) to enable this. |

I believe Wat Horse is going into one of them for autumn- forget which one, but the posters are everywhere on the tube atm! |

Way too Big for the Menier, anyway this s a developed musical which the Menier doesn’t do.
Would be great for the Bridge Theatre, could sit there for up to a year, whilst both Nick’s focus on the new Kings Cross project.

Would the Bridge welcome an open-ended run? I guess they could do a limited run but if it catches on like it's done on Broadway they might not want to limit it!
