Gender swapped Les Mis. A 3hr adaption of that episode of Coronation Street with the train crash, with no interval. An All Star Midsummer Nights Dream featuring only contestants of Love Island. A Stig of the Dump sequel.

A season of overwrought rock musicals in rep; Rent., Bat, Tommy, JCS and Spring Awakening, using the same tight rock band and cast. Sundays will be used for a karaoke youth version of ‘American Idiot’.

Actually, I think the Moira Buffini play should be an extension of the work she has done creating Harlots - so many good roles for women.
And I might add a revival of Mother Clapp's Molly House in as a companion piece
(yes, this would be a very queer-centric theatre)

It would depend on where the theatre is located. I'd try to reflect local interests to attract the new audience. However:
Shakespeare probably "Romeo and Juliet" A Roald Dahl adaptation at Easter to bring the youngsters in "The Twits". Alan Bennett's Talking Heads. Cheap to stage!!! Monster Raving Loony, James Graham A Dickens for Christmas. "Pickwick"

Exciting. Jon, I agree, a revival of The Invention of Love well overdue. And Arcadia so a bit of a Stoppard thing with possibly a few minor works in a studio setting. Guys and Dolls with actors who can sing and dance properly. I would check what is on the GCSE list for a few years forward and do a couple of those so the poor mites get a chance to see the stuff acted well. Again small scale productions would be ok as long as full quality actors.. I’d ask for submissions for new work and try to put on some of that, not community work or similar, plays typed out! And I would beg Maggie Smith to come and do again her monologue of Goebbel’s secretary.

Location wise, I'd opt for somewhere which has good transport links but not in the West End. I'd go for the development near the O2 or possibly Canary Wharf.

The Vist - Chita
Frogs in a newish one act version. Emma Thompson can star
Venus in furs
The Pillow man with Steve Pemberton
I miss Propeller and would like them to reform. Also Fiasco Theatre, Melly Still, Sally Cookson, Tim Alberry and John Doyle would be very welcome faces.
I like the idea of one act plays on a lunchtime both during the week and before a Saturday matinae
Start times on a Monday and Tuesday would be at 7 and the rest would be 7.30.

Following a recent conversation with our own Monkey here, I would use the theatre to present foreign musicals. I know that the French spectacles didn't go down well with the London audiences, but I find it rather saddening how anglo-american-centric musical culture is. For my first season I would choose a few popular continental musicals such as the Dutch "Ciske de Rat", the Austrian "Elisabeth" and one of the newer French spectacles, perhaps to stay in theme "1789 - Les Amants de la Bastille".
I'm not sure if it would make more sense to bring over casts and perform in the original language (I know surtitles will scare many off) or to do it with local casts in a translated versions (if translations could be done that are less abysmal than the English translations of "Notre Dame de Paris" and "Romeo et Juliette"). Should a show prove to be very popular, a transfer to the West End for a limited run might be possible.
Should the first season be a success, it could be expanded to include musicals from other regions such as East Asia. Perhaps I could bring over the unique Japanese Takarazuka company for a short run. I know the Korean musical "The Last Empress" did a brief run in London in 2002 and there's so much more to be found over there and right now it's all such a one-way street with countless musicals from Broadway and Europe being shown in Japan, Korea and other countries (and tourists from those regions visiting Broadway and West End shows), while there is zero knowledge of Asian musicals here.

I'd have a small and large space both with flexible staging. Not yet sure about location. A welcoming bar/cafe. Dayseats available.
Main house:
The Madness of George III with Rylance and SRB alternating the roles of the King and Willis.
Macbeth and Rii.
A new play starring Denise Gough.
Big overseas production, eg Schaubunhe, Isango doing The Observer
Studio:
Pacific Overtures
Fourth Monkey doing a new piece and a revival of their 4.48 Psychosis.
Drunk Enough To Say I Love You.
Something by Daniel Kitson
Various full and work-in-progress comedy shows (the latter maximum £8)
