Arts Es have listed their dates for Freaky Friday and The Wild Party for next year.
Freaky Friday - 17th to 25th January
The Wild Party - 4th to 12th February
Booking opens at 2pm on Thursday 5th December.

Caught the matinee of Freaky Friday at ArtsEd today, and I have to say I thought it was fantastic. A very hard-working cast with two exceptional leads (Nic Myers and Alice Croft) who deserve to go on to great things. A really enjoyable show, perky songs, frothy bubbly fun.

Saw Freaky Friday last night and was pleasantly surprised to find out that my Row C seat was actually the front row. It is very close to the stage in this theatre though.
A fun production, very professional in style, as ArtsEd productions tend to be. I don't remember ever having seen the film of this, so I've nothing to compare it too, but it's an easy watch. The songs are a bit samey, but they were performed with a lot of energy. There's a nice scene where the students strip (a bit) to go skinny dipping and you can tell this is a group who put a lot of effort into their appearance.
A few funny moments with things going wrong (unintentionally) but they were covered well. The most notable being the top tiers of a wedding cake coming loose when being carried off stage, then they had to be vigorously kicked off by the rest of the cast.
The two female leads here were excellent, playing complex roles. I particularly liked Alice Croft's sassy portrayal, but both will do well.
There were still tickets left as of yesterday, but looks like this is sold out now. But do keep an eye on the ArtsEd website if you want to go, as the availability does change.

Saw this yesterday as well. Always good to see a 'new' show, which Arts Ed often do.
Music is rather generic apart from the very catchy opening number, but performances were excellent, particularly the two leading ladies.
Some interesting choreography, put across with energy.
A lot of fun!

I've booked for The Wild Party in February, and I'll probably book for The Fix at Mountview in April as well.
Any other colleges worth keeping an eye on? I know there was a list on a different thread but I can't find it now.

Assassins at Mountview soon - I'm going! Saw the Menier production, would have loved to have seen the Actor Muso production at Watermill; they were rehearsing around the same time I saw Kiss Me Kate. Was at Mountview tonight for the first performance of Assassins, performed by Cast 1 of the graduating class.
This was held in the Backstage Theatre, essentially a flexible stage. Seats on all four sides of a square performance area, minimal set, mostly boxes of crates and few props (apart from guns).
It is a great musical and, for people like me who hate gunshots, they are all either pre-recorded or use balloons. Doesn't mean some of them aren't loud though. There was an audible four letter word from an audience member sat near me at one point.
This is done in one act, 7:15pm start, over by 9pm. Lots of good character pieces for the students. Singing was a little mixed, but that's to be expected. Highlight for me was Hannah Abdool as Sarah Jane Moore, but there is a lot of talent there. Samuel Ashall as Sam Bych was great also and has one of those solo character pieces that really make a portfolio.
There are two casts, unusually the men are the same for both. From what I've seen from Mountview this year, I can only assume the class ended up very female heavy for some reason.
You can't compare this with the actor-musician version that toured last year, but it's a strong traditional production, very watchable and certainly leaves you with chills at the end.

What I wanted to say was that i haven't heard good things about the Acting MT course at RCSSD, so well done to Maddisson Bulleyment for being one of the very few people who actually manage to get cast on graduating.
I too have seen some MT productions at Central, and have never been overly impressed.

A thumbs up for Betty Blue Eyes at Mountview. I was there for the first performance last night, in the main theatre. I sat front row, but you may want to sit back for better sound balance.
I haven’t seen this show before, but it’s very offbeat Stiles and Drewe. Professionally staged with production values to match many smaller West End shows.
There is a loud noise warning for anyone interested. It’s a recording, happens in the first half and quite predicts when it will happen from the context.
The cast for this is largely the same every night, with just one shared role. I saw cast 1, who were all good. Decent singing and dancing with lots of camp and one actor really channeling his inner Mark Gatiss.
It wasn’t sold out last night so I’d imagine it will be fairly easy to get tickets. Runs another week. Ran about 2 hours 40 minutes last night.
