Interesting he was showing Sir Trev around, no doubt sizing the jaunt for potential double denim and double revolves

Hadn't realised that Peter Bull was involved with the Turbine Theatre - he's not on their website, but I'm guessing he might be General Manager or similar.
Peter Bull was the Artistic Director of Above the Stag when it was in Victoria and looked after their two subsequent moves. There's an article in The Stage this week about how ATS is broadening its scope to cover "all marginalised sexualities". with an interview with its new Artistic Director Andrew Beckett, whose first programmed play is 'Stop Kiss', with an all-female creative team. Peter Bull had been AD of ATS for years and I thought it was odd that he wasn't mentioned in the article, and when I checked on the ATS website, he was nowhere to be seen. A bit of a hunt on the internet led me to Peter Bull's Facebook page, and he changed his profile pic to the Turbine Theatre logo on 28 July, and subsequently talks about "We open the Turbine Theatre" and "Our amazing new theatre".
Not sure this means anything much but I did think it was interesting that Peter Bull left ATS after 11 years without any announcement and he's popped up at another riverside under-the-arches theatre...

This is the Katie Mitchell version from the National a few years ago, in a production directed by Lillie Collier which has been touring for a few years. Still seems weird they are announcing productions so late - I would think a lot of families have already sorted out their Christmas theatre trips! Also coming up MTFest2020, which Paul Taylor-Mills has brought with him from The Other Palace mtfestuk.co.uk/

So maybe will still sell well idk

I think the choice to put on a Cat in the Hat is testing the waters for family shows. They've done a play, they've done a musical, this is the next step. I'm also pretty sure they are trying to appeal to the young families that live in the apartment complex next door.

I'm also pretty sure they are trying to appeal to the young families that live in the apartment complex next door. It's certainly a variety of shows! With MT Fest now being hosted here, I'm guessing the ultimate goal would be to have some fully realised productions come out of it, and it's a great sized venue to be able to do this. All of last years musicals looked to have potential, I wonder if we might see a full production of one of them as as part of the 2020 season.

It's exciting to think about the potential of this place. I just WISH their seating was more comfortable and those pesky trains weren't so loud. Who knows maybe the theatre will move locations in the future if things go well.

I doubt they'll move, they probably want to establish this as a destination given that the area is going to see a boost when the Northern Line extension opens,

When I saw HF there,I imagined that the record shop in the show was next to a railway line and hence the sound of the trains was background sound effects...of course this wouldn’t work for some other shows lol

Exciting...any rumours of productions? I haven't a clue but I'm praying to the gods of theatre for Pal Joey, Kiss of the Spider Woman, Passion and his Dark Materials all to be played in rep and with a lavish budget 😉

The Clockmaker's Daughter is following the Turbine Theatre on Twitter... please let that mean there's a revival on the way!

It's not the biggest stage or space so it won't be anything too 'big' - it would really suit a lot of more intimate shows though. I thought both Torch Song and High Fidelity worked really well in there. Exciting to hear what they've got in store...

I saw ‘Guy’ when it was at the Kings Head. It was one of the worst things I saw that year. On the other hand, ‘ Riot Act’ was really good. A very mixed bag though and not much to help build the theatre’s reputation.

A weird season and the fact several of the shows are one or two person shows doesn't give much confidence in how well they are doing. But on the upside they have reduced the ticket prices to a more sensible level - everything now seems to be £20.
