There seems a lot of musicals that get a revival every year or two at some theatre or other around the country, there have been more productions of The Wizard of Oz, Joseph, Guys & Dolls and the like to shake a stick at, but what shows would you like to see given another life that haven't been seen for a while? Maybe i'ts a show that's just not been done for a few years you'd like to see again or maybe it's something that well and truly seems confined to the history books!

Windy City. The first West End musical I saw in, I think, 1982. Never heard of it being done again...

The Frogs
Directed by Marriane Elliot Dionysos - Emma Thompson Pluto - Chita Rivera Charon - Anna Francolini
I also want the Open Air theatre to stage SITPWG but I guess I have to wait a good ten years or so for that to happen!

Absolutely DESPERATE for Starlight Express.
This has surely got to be the most successful London musical ever NOT to have been revived yet? No doubt due to the difficulties in staging it and the investment needed. Was heavily hinted that it would be brought back when we had The Other Palace concerts and then the launch of the new version in Bochum, Germany last year however it has all gone very quiet now.
In addition I would also like to see new versions of all the later ALW shows (Whistle Down The Wind and Beautiful Game in particular).

I’d love a full scale revival of The Drowsy Chaperone.

I’m not sure I’m desperate, but could enjoy a proper revival of Starlight.

I’ve never seen a production of Hedwig & the Angry Inch and would love to as I enjoy listening to the cast recording. It hasn’t been in the WE for fifteen years so I would hope it’s due a revival soon.
More recently I’d like to see the return of Carrie, In the Heights and following the Spice World tour last weekend it got me reminiscing over Viva Forever! (I was in the minority of those who loved it).

I'd love to see Martin Guerre revived. 100% agree! I did hear it was being worked on by Boublil and Schonberg (but without Cameron who said he could take it no further but wished it well) - that has also gone quiet though!

Back when Back To The Future was announced last month, I had a look at Olly Dobson's (Marty McFly) Spotlight CV to see what else he had done and saw this under the Workshops tab... Workshop, Arnaud, MARTIN GUERRE, The Old Vic, Matthew Warchus www.spotlight.com/5093-0165-3900And that is actually listed above the BTTF workshop, so possibly it was more recent and could be on the cards for the Old Vic?

Not sure which musical would fit the bill, but something to fill 42nd Street's shoes would be fab.

It would be great to see it and hear some of those fantastic melodies again. They’d have to commit to which version, but as soon as they did we could all go through our ‘Guerre-odexes’ to choose which cd to listen to to re-familiarise ourselves with it. Or put them both on shuffle...or smear both discs in jam so that it skips random tracks hopefully leading to a coherent whole. Or someone could just address the central issue and not let US know who the real MG is til the end. Doh!
