Opening at Greenwich Theatre on 27 September and running until 19 October. Preview price £16 until 30 September, thereafter £23.50 - £28.50.
I think this is the UK Premiere. I know nothing about it but booked a preview ticket anyway.

It's a show within a show concept - a street theatre group put on a musical which turns out to have intimate resonances for all of them. It's very lively and inventive with a loud hard rock score. It played Broadway briefly - led by Eden Espinoza and Kevin Anderson - and got savaged by the critics but I enjoyed it a lot and play the cast recording often.

I thought for a second this was based on the film with Saoirse Ronan.

I saw it on Broadway and its a great showcase for those people who belt loud and high - from the Pop Idol school of singing. It's not particularly meaningful or moving - but if you like full-throttled singing you'll have a good time. ON Broadway Eden Espinoza was fabulous.

I thought for a second this was based on the film with Saoirse Ronan. Now THAT would be a lovely show, it’s a gorgeous film. That, and ‘Circle of Friends’ are both prime candidates for whimsical ‘Go Between’ style chamber pieces.

Loved loved loved it! These songs! Sang with killer voices and by amazing cast. So moving (cried, like, 4 times)!
Simple story beautifully told. So happy I saw it! Now need to find the album.

Great to hear the positive review, I'm hoping to go in a couple of weeks! Promo code for anyone else planning a trip- use WOS15 to get £15 tickets. This was on a Whatsonstage email a couple of weeks ago and I forgot to post it on here, I hope it's still valid.

Ehhhh
This was kind of okay, totally unnecessary interval, lots of high belting (oh god so much high belting), some random drug-taking that came right out of a GCSE "issues" play.
Maybe I'm just a grump? But people sat near me were crying at it and the lady next to me was wiping her face with two hands throughout the entire last five minutes - the story is annoying and contrived and it didn't touch me at all.

The album isn't on Spotify or available through the Amazon as far as I can see, but I found this on YouTube if it's any use... 😀

I enjoyed this last night, mostly on the strength of the music, performed by some vocally excellent performers. It is one of those rare recent shows where I can remember some of the music afterwards.
The plot isn't strong and the "show within a show" concept didn't really grab me, but it's a good way to make a musical work with a cast of only five people, playing multiple parts.
I booked a front row seat during the theatre anniversary offer, so the view was excellent, but generally you'll have a good view from anywhere. I did notice there were some much larger discounts available now, but the theatre was still only about a third full, which is a shame. The cast still put on a polished performance.
This would work better as a single act, without an interval (it would run under 90 minutes), but I know they have to put intervals in to sell drinks.
It is an easy theatre to get to, near a mainline station and the DLR. You can also have a pleasant walk around Greenwich (and see the Cutty Sark lit up in the dark). It is worth going to see before this closes.

Hiba Elchikhe is so damned charming She is absolutely breathtaking. I went to her cabaret a couple weeks ago and she recognised me when I went to meet her at stage door afterwards. I really hope to see her in more shows in the future. Brooklyn as a show also really helped showcase what a fantastic talent she has when it comes to riffing and belting.

Hiba Elchikhe is so damned charming She is! As is everyone in that cast. I wish I could see the show one more time, Broadway album lacks the passion I got when I saw it live
