For those of us who book our theatre well ahead, or just for life in general- it's been announced that the early May Bank Holiday, which would have been expected to fall on Monday 4th 2020 will in fact be on Friday 8th to commemorate VE Day. I would guess that there are calendars and diaries in print which will be wrong.

I was just reading an article about a couple who planned their wedding around the bank holiday because it was the only way the guests they wanted would be able to attend. It does seem like a bit of a rushed decision. (There's a part of me that wants to say "I'm sure they know what they're doing", but a couple of years ago they moved a bank holiday and forgot to revoke the old one and only got away with it because nobody noticed until afterwards.)

I'm booked in for the Starfury: Agents Assemble convention, running 1st - 3rd May 2020.
Until now I thought I'd have to book the National Express coach from Manchester instead of the train from Wigan, as there would probably be engineering works over the Bank holiday weekend.
That problem looks as if it's been solved, but having said that, Virgin won't be running the WC main line franchise by then, so who knows what the train fare will be?

As someone who has been to a family Sunday wedding I have no sympathy for any prats that arrange a wedding for a Sunday. Easily the worst place to try and do anything in this country.
