Was traci Bennett the one that was in the follies revival at the NT ? Yes she played Carlotta, the one in the red dress who sang I'm Still Here. Oh I’m even happier about seeing this now, she was absolutely staggering in follies. That was such a great show !

You mean there's more of Manchester than WHSmith and Starbucks? Not much more, tbf. There are, maybe, half a dozen theatres, but none are world-famous, and it rains constantly. A cape is a necessity.

Traci Bennett is going to be in Mame at Hope Mill, not this as I understand it. I think the comment was just about having Ria Jones and Traci in Manchester around the same time.

Oh and it’s just been awarded the most desirable place to live in the UK. We get plenty of sunshine too when the rest of the country does. Bored of the always raining stereotype.

Think I heard Rebecca is understudy Rose Well in that case, if she is ever on, that is one lucky audience!

There might be a bit more flesh on display than expected. The REX have posted on Facebook saying that 12 huge bags of Gypsy costumes have been stolen from a van and appealing for help recovering them.

Looks like it was the van itself that's been stolen, which includes the 12 bags of costumes! How heartbreaking for them!

Got myself a ticket for £7.00 for next Friday. Worth checking out for anyone here who's under 26 or a student.

I think it’s possible. Could be very tight for time though. I’m watching gypsy on sat eve so I’ll be able to give you a better running time after the show.

Fastest train Piccadilly to Sheffield is 50 minutes. Should be possible but don’t get on the stopping service by mistake.

I considered that a few weeks back and decided the timing was just too tight for comfort. You only need to be caught up in the pedestrian rush around Manchester to not make a train. I didn’t check if doing this in the other direction would be better (I think Guys and Dolls is shorter etc).
