cadoganhall.com/whats-on/godspell-2019/The British Theatre Academy presents a semi-staged concert of the critically acclaimed Godspell, featuring some of today’s West End stars including Laura Baldwin (Waitress), Luke Bayer (Everybody’s Talking About Jamie), Max Bowden (Eastenders), Rachel John (Hamilton) and Ramin Karimloo (Phantom, Les Misérables, Holby City) alongside the next generation in a unique production. A little finger wag here. Saw this on facebook last night .... facebook is banned at work so I rely on this board for the gossip. And no thread about this. Tsk. Although not a favourite show of mine, a promise of Ramin got me a ticket.

Only minor comment is the date should be Saturday 29 June (not July as in the subject).
Looks great, although unfortunately I can't make that date. Will look forward to hearing how it goes.

Ramin Karimloo is in this ..... I’m there! 😆❤️
Really good cast, but I don’t know much about Godspell tbh. Will need to check out the score.

First ever musical I ever directed as an am-dram back in late 80’s... great memories.Wonderful mix of musical styles in the show and a chance for the choreographer to have fun.Saw it as as a rather static concert version at the Barbican a long time ago and sadly, it didn’t work as I feel that the script is set up for the director/cast to realise a very fast-moving,high-energy and playful depiction of each of the parables which then leads into the more sombre betrayal scenes, the Crucifixion scene and then the up-beat finale/play-out(the Resurrection and beyond). The movie version was filmed on location around NY and works well imo.Hope this venture gets a lot of support.

OMG Nu-Ben from Eastenders is in this. He has been brilliant flouncing about the Square and has a hot new affair on the go just in time for Pride month.
