As soon as I get an email showing my new date and where my circle seats have gone, I shall hop on here.

The 'old' Gillian Lynne circle had a large number of restricted view seats because of the industrial nature of the safety rail. With extra seats and a revolving stage, I wonder if they are spending a little time understanding the new sight lines?
And tomorrow is now today. What can it be?

Another naff TikTok-Video of ALW showing how down with the kids he is?
Frankly, I'm sick to the teeth of "announcements of annoucements" on Social Media. Just break news when you have some or publish whatever new promotional material you put together, but this endless "whee, I got something for you soon" teasing feels like never-ending kindergarten.

I agree with you. Maybe I am old but I also can't bear announcements of announcements. Like literally what's the point! (Plus they are invariably a huge anticlimax). If they used them really sparingly for really really big announcements - fair enough. But for everything? Tedious beyond belief. I am clearly out of touch though as all the young MT actors I follow on SM do this. Literally announce that tomorrow they're announcing that they're off to the supermarket/had their hair cut etc etc etc.

I like the song I know I have a heart but the others seem less sophisticated.
Also, Connor is direcitng which is a hard pass for me, it'll take a day seat for £20 and an empty schedule in my London Visit Schedule to encourage me to see it.

He has a thing for people wandering around backstage and singing into mirrors doesn't he?
The theatre looks lovely (although extremely steep! You wouldn't want to trip on those stairs.).

Well the song is clunky ALW meets Stephen Ward sounding which I don’t like but that aside....
A what is Carrie wearing? B was this video made for 500 pounds? C didn’t the director tell Carrie that she must physically match the vocal power when lip syncing. D Any direction? Any? E Acting? F point of the theatre setting?
A rather BAD Cinderella! I so want this to be bad but it’s all a bit CRINGE. I’m sorry!

It reminds me of a mish-mash of Tell Me On A Sunday songs.

There will loads of bad cover versions on the YouTubes for a long time. And I can see it being overused in auditions by Carrie wannabes
But it is still a weak song with some really poor key changes

I just don’t see how you are meant to enjoy it as a melody when it keeps changing its mind about what the tune is.

Nice tune let down by weak acting. Is she supposed to look peeved throughout?

I wish they'd gone full power ballad — dry ice, wind machine, the works.

Well I think it’s a gorgeous song, gorgeously sung....to listen to. I know exactly what you mean about the performance, but we know nothing about the character or what has happened to her (other than liking a mac, docs and a smoky eye). It might make total sense in context.

To paraphrase Spamalot - This song 'goes on and on and on...' It needs to be cut. Boom, you're welcome ALW.
Positives. Carrie's make up looks beautiful and the cinematography - *chef's kiss*

As a big ALW fan the music is getting 6/10 from me at the moment.
The pants songs, no cast list, shiny silver set, amateur looking flats, revolving seats and closed circle/balcony is making this show FASCINATING

It reminds me of Look with your Heart from love never dies. I will say that I was put off originally by the clunky lyrics, but as the song goes on it does grow on you and becomes an earworm. I think it’s great that they’re casting a non-stereotypical Cinderella and I know people on this board have it out for her, but I’ll wait to cast an opinion until I see the actual show. With Covid, ALW is trying to get attention with these music videos and I actually don’t think it’s working in his favor.

I'd like him to release the overture (although I think that's hoping for too much!).
I'd settle for a duet. Do musicals normally have quite so many solos?! If it is sung through, I want to hear interaction!

If it is sung through, I want to hear interaction! They’re not going to release a duet as I presume that would give away the whole ‘mystery’ of the plot and we would see that Cinderella doesn’t end up with her Prince Charming but ends up with some baby faced lad instead. Loving the tunes. Some definite ear worms in there but the lyrics! Year 6 poetry week springs to mind.

I know what you mean, but the solos so far could literally be a standalone pop song. That's not what I want from a musical! I suppose I Don't Know How to Love Him is the same though.
I do wonder whether Far Too Late will actually be a duet in the show.

I can’t think of anything more typical :/

When Regent's Park did Into The Woods back in 2010 I seem to remember Helen Dallimore's Cinderella wearing something in the Doc Martins/Converse footwear line.

She also happens to be very curvy and not what one thinks of when they think of a princess.

Maybe those in charge think Carrie is simply the best person for the role in *shock horror* casting based on merit and talent.

Maybe those in charge think Carrie is simply the best person for the role in *shock horror* casting based on merit and talent. The role of Cinderella wasn’t an audition opened to the rest of the industry so having only seen her they wouldn’t really be able to assess that?
