Wow, what an incredibly thin skinned boy he must be. Does he think Jon & Craig have never been on holiday? It’s so weird, lol! There are so many wonderful people in the theatre, but also people who are just pains in the a**! There always has been I guess, it’s just that social media seems to have brought it all out in the open for us all to see, unfortunately! Laura Baldwin’s deserves for her next show to be without any drama whatsoever! First Waitress ruthlessly culled her for some celeb casting and now she’s had to deal with all this Cinderella cast and crew fallout!

Completely off-topic from the current discussion going on but I’m just re-listening to the cast recording right now and at the end of Man’s Man the lyrics are “Let's cut to the chase, he was a swashbuckling, mead-swilling Virile, strapping, lady-killing Dragon-slaying, cow-tipping Lion-hearted, bodice-ripping Knuckle-dragging, princess-shagging Man's, man's, very tan man” Did that princess-shagging line actually make it into the final show? My god😭

My god😭 Yup. Truly an odd song for the queen to sing about her own son. Not an odd song at all. They're not going for realism here, it's a fantasy world, and it's a humorous caricature in modern terms of a historical attitude towards manhood. I think the lyrics are great.

I hope this thread never dies. As a long time reader it's been my evening dose of excitement every day since the show opened.

Same, every time I open the thread I keep thinking "oh, what's happened now...?". I should open a book on it as a side hustle... "What will be the next drama associated with this cursed show?" CHF complains about stage door/ridicules a fan on Twitter - 3/1 ALW makes another poorly judged PR blunder - 2/1 Rodney "The Milkybar Kid" Vubya embarrasses self on two or more social media platforms - 1/1000

Still, it detracts from ALW, so Rodney/Dave should keep his colourful ribbons flying high.

It has certainly been the ‘talk’ for all the wrong reasons hasn’t it. What a shame that the various ‘characters’ couldn’t bring themselves to do the right thing a bit more rather than what transpired. The germ of a good idea…more than enough cracking tunes…a potentially great cast…all smooshed together into something nowhere near the sum of its parts with school play direction.

Why is he called The Milkybar Kid?

Why is he called The Milkybar Kid? See the bottom of page 385. He inexplicably decided to officially name his character "Danté Cadbury" and promises (threatens?) to write a tell-all book about his time in the show. Strangely though, he is actually credited as "Ensemble" in my programme. I can only assume "Ensemble" is a French one-name thing he chose, prior to settling on Danté, similar to "Dalida"? Weirdly he also has other several characters who share the same name. There are also a few characters named "Swing", which is possibly Austrian sounding?

It's not weird for the reasons I mentioned in my post. You haven't addressed my argument or even made one of your own.

On the app. I can’t find pages like that but I understand now. I was just a bit worried it was a racist thing, but thanks for explaining.

I’ve gone quite far back and can’t see what Rodney did, can anyway explain it to me?

Not as exciting as all these other snippets, but I have only just found out that Georgina Castle is Andrew Castle's daughter! Now I know I can definitely see the resemblance.

I have no idea what's going on in some parts of this thread, and I think that's probably for the best.

The guy is incredibly irritating and self involved, but I have to say it's quite common for ensemble members to assign their roles a name and personality (helps bring them to life a bit and get through the repetition), just maybe without the self-promotion to leading role.

Actually it reminds me of an episode of Gimme Gimme Gimme where Tom has a walk on part alongside Tom Cruise and he spends the episode inventing a back story for his character.
