“Celebs who pose half-naked will never work again because it wouldn’t fly if they worked in my office in Wolverhampton” is certainly a unique take. 🤣🤣 Firstly ‘celebs’ 😂 Secondly offices/theatres/garbage collectors i don’t really see the difference in terms of professionalism. And shading the boss even accompanied by a lovely attention seeking photo is never acceptable. We have only heard the side of the cast. We’ve not heard ALW or his company publicly shade anyone Keep it for your FINSTA lads Of course there’s a difference. If you work in an office you are not contractually required to get naked, perform simulated sex with the person at the next desk, do photoshoots (where you may be pressured to pose wearing revealing outfits or even semi-nude), do press interviews (where you may be pressured into revealing things about your personal life), maintain an active social media following, be pressured into revealing personal things on social media to build up a brand and a fanbase, or be told explicitly that only people with x social media followers will be considered for a job. All common for actors. There are huge cultural, attitude and etiquette differences between the theatre industry and other industries. As well as significant difference between the (legal and cultural) expectations of employees vs freelancers. A freelancer slagging off a client isn’t great but it is pretty common amongst freelancers. The nudity is irrelevant (and slagging off actors who pose nude as “attention seekers” is just weird), and context matters. If it wasn’t ALW this would be looked upon much more poorly, but there’s a lot of industry support for the cast due to the circumstances and broader context, which means people are more willing to give the actors the benefit of the doubt.

As a freelancer working in the industry myself yes slagging off a client is common but professionals will do it privately. Big no no on SM unless you want to get a reputation as unprofessional. I don’t think calling the photo ‘attention seeking’ is at all ‘weird’. Any posed photo like that is of course attention seeking. Otherwise why bother posting it if you don’t want likes and comments. Posting ANYTHING on social media is attention seeking. I feel maybe you feeling my comment is weird says more about your perception of my point than my actual intent. I actually said shading the boss is unprofessional EVEN when accompanied by a lovely attention seeking photo. As you say context matters. So what has that photo to do with ALW? Or Cinderella? The answer is nothing. Other than a humorous opportunity to add a shady comment. The photo itself fine. If you like that sort of thing 🤷🏼♀️

"So what has that photo to do with ALW? Or Cinderella? The answer is nothing."
Makes me wonder why it's being discussed then?

"So what has that photo to do with ALW? Or Cinderella? The answer is nothing." Makes me wonder why it's being discussed then?Because he is in Cinderella and he has mentioned ALW in that post. Also, are you under the impression that TheatreBoard is run by WoS? It isn’t. Far from it.

"So what has that photo to do with ALW? Or Cinderella? The answer is nothing." Makes me wonder why it's being discussed then? The OP started the convo because Tobias posted the photo and referenced ALW which triggered a discussion on whether it was appropriate/wise to shade your boss at your currently employed job on social media. If the post had been just the photo with no comment associated with ALW then it wouldn’t have been posted here and I wouldn’t have seen it as I don’t follow the actor. I think it’s fair game to be discussed here as ALW is associated with Cinderella and Tobias is employed as a cast member. There are a couple of cast members still taking sly digs at the boss. To me (and this is just my opinion, every one has one and no one has to take the SLIGHTEST bit of notice of mine) it comes across as childish, unprofessional and attention seeking (the comment not the photo) It’s actually nobody’s business but the actor’s what he posts on his Instagram page but anything in the public forum is fair game for comment either on his page or on here.

No Carrie tonight. Appears all other main cast are on It’s a scheduled off-night for her, she did the matinee today. I went for a 3rd and final visit this afternoon, and I must admit I have fallen for this camp mess of a show and will miss it (and the crazy backstage drama).

One of Andrews weaker shows in my opinion.Victoria stole the scenes she was in but Ivano was shocking. His vocals were not good, although his dancing was great. We were sat at the side stalls and the noise from the wings was terrible, laughing and chatting. In years of theatre visits never heard anything like it.

I was there tonight too, second row of stalls and could hear chattering too. I thought it was someone in the audience. I agree that Ivan was pretty weak tonight. I overheard some women talking on the way out and they commented how implausible it was that Cinderella would fall for someone like him. Otherwise I enjoyed the show. Glad I got to see it again before closing, and up close this time too.

I've noticed this too on the couple of occasions that I've sat front row, and found it really distracting. I was sitting at the far left of the front row once and could hear what sounded like Carrie chatting really loudly in the wings during one of the scenes - I wonder if people further back can hear the same? I've always known most companies to have very strict no noise rules in the wings during show times, so it's a bit odd.

Yet another example of unprofessional behaviour from the cast?🫣
I still think Andy’s a prize tw*t but definitely starting to agree that some of the cast aren’t innocent in all this either.
Also I’ve been told about keeping quiet in the wings since amateur theatre age 11 so there really is no excuse for professional paid actors on the west end!

They may hate it but the public have paid to see the show, show them some respect if nothing/no one else. I remember a few times at the Kings Cross Theatre hearing the cast of In The Heights running under the seating area. I think it was unavoidable, because of the set up, but you never once heard their voices.

I agree to an extent, but I also think it could be argued that the noise in the wings comes down to the company not making sure this is kept down as well. I imagine sometimes the cast are running around between scenes and don't realise they can be heard. But again I agree, this rule is literally enforced in school productions.

You just don’t talk in the wings.
If you talk above a whisper you will be heard.
Primary school play backstage behaviour 101
Can’t believe they ‘wouldn’t realise this’
From some of the SoMe posts some of them are probably having celebrations back there that it’s closing.
Write to the company manager.
You might get your money back, if enough of you do it you might be successful and hopefully save the last few future audience members the same behaviour.
However From the sounds though it sounds like they lost control of this cast a while back.

Ugh, that’s my pet peeve. It’s so unprofessional.
I once saw something at the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse where the actors were fooling around giggling waiting to go on (actually at the back of the auditorium so literally inches from the people sitting on the back row). I tweeted whinging about it and got loads of insults from some weird anonymous troll account that did nothing except post abuse about people in theatre and vociferously champion one single unknown actor, then it turned out to belong to someone working at a very major acting agency.
That has nothing to do with Cinderella, sorry, it just reminded me of how bugf*** insane theatre is sometimes.

It just takes you out of it.
I was sat on the aisle this week and two ushers were at the door, but because one was training a newbie she talked all the time and it drove me insane.

I'm going to see Cinderella next weekend. When I booked a few weeks ago I could have literally chosen any seat in the house. I just looked now and there is just a handful of seats left and the following day also a few seats left with the cheapest being £95.

However From the sounds though it sounds like they lost control of this cast a while back. I agree, it is totally unprofessional and something that could definitely result in a verbal warning in other companies. I suppose I was just trying to diplomatic and see it from the cast perspective, as I hate to look like someone who is constantly criticising other performers. If I'm being completely honest though, I know for certain it was Carrie chatting as I could hear her entire conversation about the wooden log prop, before coming out with it in the next scene. I was literally in the furthest possible seat to the left though which touches the wall and is just in front of the wings, so I gave her the benefit of the doubt because I quite like her (Even though I find her snarky responses to fans who are just trying to be nice on SM recently really off putting). This was also the same night that I could see into the right side wings though and witnessed Carrie bending Ivano over and dry humping him...so I left the show feeling like it was all a bit unprofessional, and that was long before the closure notice.

If she gets another gig as a leading lady (and that seems questionable based on this experience) she’d do well to skip the cherry cokes and fridge full of chocolate, the book lending service and the donuts for FOH. Instead she might focus on setting an professional example to other cast members. That’s what being the lead is all about isn’t it?
