Judging from the host of YouTube clips showing the bows at the show since it reopened they A- seem to be allowing filming of the bows which they did at the start but then seem to stop. Certainly when I regretfully saw it the ushers were in the gangways blocking views in their determination to stop and pics or filming. B - seem to have revamped and hyped up the energy possibly in the hope if people enjoy the last few minutes and go out hyped up a bit they may forget the previous two hours. If the whole show had that level of upbeat performance it would have been very different. Yes but then the party slows right down when Cinderella comes on? She should come on and join in the dancing to continue the high. It’s a weird and abrupt ending. |

When I saw the show a couple of weeks ago, there was an announcement at the start (in the dulcet tones of ALW) about the usual stuff of turning phones off, but then he said people were very welcome to film all they wanted during the curtain call and finale. The phones were out en masse at the end, but funnily enough not one to be seen before that time.

They’re so desperate to make that curtain call happen. It’s cringe. That's happening at all shows now. I do find it quite annoying watching any finale these days s you're usually doing it through a sea of lit up phones. |

Most people can’t live without their phones for an hour. If they don’t record it, it never happened, right? Out come the phones. Bows posted on socials,giving the impression of a standing ovation. Look everyone at our huge successful show. Reality: most folk are standing to see the bows... |

I have no problem with it personally - people get a free souvenir to remember their expensive big night out (for many, their only theatre trip of the year), it works as free advertising for the show and sends the punters home happy.
I certainly don't treat a standing ovation as any indication of quality. I can count on one hand the number of West End musicals I've seen in recent years which *haven't* had a standing ovation.
It used to be the great performances which got one - I remember seeing some dire Les Mis/Phantom/Wicked performances with standard applause at the end. Now a standing ovation has lost all meaning to me as it happens as practically every performance of everything.

I agree the standing ovation has been lost over time, I personally stay seated (if I can but even that's tricky now as everyone has a forced dance/clap along at the end) and only get up for the performers that have been outstanding in my opinion. |

My biggest frustration is if it’s backed by ‘a fast one’ so everyone just claps in time to the music, giving you no chance to reward the people you want to clap louder.
And if it was poor I stay sat down and just clap the people that were any good.

Having travelled around on the Underground a lot this morning and noticed there's quite extensive use of the new publicity photos around but very few of them are ones of Carrie. The one I noticed most was of the Queen surrounded by the topless hunks with the tagline " come on boys" which all seems a bit bizarrre

If not no problem, just the gist will do I appreciate all the covid advice in my DM’s but my work has a Covid Monitor that figures out all our dates from first symptoms/first positive test, close contacts etc and sends everything we need to know in an email. So I know what day I’m currently on and when I should be testing and will be following the guidance and advice of the Cinderella Covid Monitor. Thank you so much for caring enough to message though. Finally got to see this last night - Carrie was still off with Covid but Georgina has a similar enough voice to Carrie that I was happy in that regard.
I do think that the show is iffy and not as well polished as I would’ve liked. The costumes are gorgeous and sitting in the first few rows, I got to really appreciate the intricacies and fine details of the stepmother and Queen’s costumes in particular. The orchestra arrangements were also a lovely touch and it was great to hear the score being played live. The revolving seats were a nice touch but quickly becomes distracting I think and my focus shifts away from the action on stage.
The second half is definitely stronger than the first with I Know I Have a Heart being a highlight. The opening number tries to build momentum into “Bad Cinderella” but there doesn’t seem to be much lift here. “I Know You” was probably my favourite part of Act I but the song sounds oddly familiar? Victoria Hamilton Barritt and Rebecca Trehearn and fabulous here though and suspends the audience for long enough to maintain interest in the story.
I saw Ivano Turco in Camelot in Concert and was intrigued to see him as Sebastian. His voice has a very lovely tone but I would’ve loved to have heard a greater belt in Only You, Lonely You. You can see he has a dance background for sure and I hope we get to see more of him in future productions where he can show off his vocal abilities more.
All in all though, I had a generally enjoyable evening even though I wasn’t wowed by it. It’s a strange mish-mash that Lord Andrew and Emerald Fennell have concocted. This Cinderella is very ambitious for sure and I can’t fault their intentions. The ending for me though did underwhelm me and the from the royal wedding onwards, I felt a lack of a wholesome conclusion. 7/10 from me.
