Hopefully some of the big publications saw him earlier in the week.
I hope the understudy smashes it. Role Debut and on opening night. No pressure.
I have visions of the understudy watching Showgirls and being inspired.

How horrible that Roger Bart won’t get to perform tonight, after his long journey with the show. Thank god some reviewers have seen him in the show already

It reads more like a 4* review. Strange.

What's the deal with the tickets? It says in the email I have to download to my mobile wallet, I don't have a mobile wallet, nor do I want one! But if they are TodayTix rush seats, you have to collect a physical ticket from the box office as there's no barcode on the TodayTix confirmation - even though it gives you the option of downloading it to the wallet! The procedure must vary between theatres. We've had three Rush tickets for Hairspray and they just wave you in there, it's actually quicker than regular barcoded tickets. It was the same for The Windsors Endgame.

I think this quote from Variety pretty much sums this show up, imo :')
'Is it a great musical? Absolutely not.'

Perhaps a few people got Covid from Roger (or he got it from them) and too many people would be out and there aren't enough covers?

There were rush tickets still available at 1pm today. Very nearly bought them, really glad I didn't now.
The phrasing makes it sound like it's not Covid related? Otherwise surely they'd just give a return date like all other shows that have had to close?

There are so many people that can cover a role. If Docs cover has gone sick alongside a couple of others it’d be game over.

Maybe they just haven’t had time to rehearse the covers properly yet.

Yes he did - but doesnt mean that’s why show cancelled tonight - during this horrific year, theatres have usually confirmed that cancellations are covid related if that’s the reason but BTTF have tweeted publicly that’s it’s ‘due to illness …’ which could cover a myriad of things - that’s all I’m saying 😀

Any inside news on what's happening to the rest of this week's performances? I'm holding Friday tickets, and official sources are saying nothing currently.

Any inside news on what's happening to the rest of this week's performances? I'm holding Friday tickets, and official sources are saying nothing currently. Mmm, we're booked for tonight, I'm off to London soon anyway as seeing Carousel this afternoon and my son has already booked his non-refundable travel for when he finishes work. We'll try for Rush tickets for something if BTTF gets cancelled. We have front row £49.50 seats which are all sold out till at least November. I previously had a BTTF matinee booked in Manchester two days after the first lockdown in March 2020 and obviously cancelled. I shall keep an eye on this Forum and hope it won't be second time unlucky !

Sorry to hear you've been unlucky twice. Hope you get booked for another performance soon. Maybe they will upgrade you if front row is sold out. I had front row for July and when they delayed the opening, I was offered row C centre which I accepted at no extra charge. It was actually better than front row as the stage is quite high. Good luck!

When this show is open what have been the covid checks. Looking up for tickets and London theatre was saying you need to show negative test results done within 24 hours even if you have your double vaccine proof. The LW web site says to do the test but is not stating you need to bring the result along. Was looking to see this along side anything goes, a show and theatre you can just walk into with no letters, apps or medical tests!

When I went on Sunday, they were asking for either proof of vaccination or of a recent test. However, somebody behind me didn’t have either, and the usher said it was alright. He said “We just have to ask”.
