There we go then! I think that in lieu of ‘Cats’ still existing, this is the nearest thing we have yo a ‘tourist trap’ show.

Maybe ‘Lion King’…something that doesn’t necessarily need you to be able to speak the language.

Saw it this week on 15th (evening) with some of the new cast (a few listed below) who joined from 14th.

I thought it was very well performed and staged.... even if many of the songs are not especially memorable.

I thought the new Marty was excellent (younger than previous actors helps I think and his first major role) and worked really well with the Doc (good chemistry). 

Worrying - how full is it? I think this show has run its course.

It was quite empty. Mine was a comp so I suppose there will be many others.

I found the whole show underwhelming. Too many songs, relying too much on the film, no emotion or even laughs. The bits that the audience seemed to enjoy more were the ones they recognised from the film.

Me and my friends were looking at shows we could quickly book to see tonight.

Take a moment out of your time to look at the booking on the official website, or on TodayTix... how is this still running?!

At 11:18 this still has rush tickets available hahaha

That is true, but in comparison to how other shows are today in bookings it's still such a massive difference in demand even for this weekend. I know as said earlier they have an odd way of producing it, so maybe there's compensation for all these dull days?

I had fun at the show which I went to a couple of weekends ago.



That said, my enjoyment was probably influenced by: a) having seen the original movie many times as a kid so it was interesting to see what they kept the same and what was changed/cut out; and b)being in a good seat while not paying full price (TodayTix).



I went during a matinee with quite a few empty seats around me, and with an understudy Marty and a swing Doc -- and we still really enjoyed it. An usher mentioned that our Doc actor was not in the role very often which probably boosted his (very evident) enthusiasm and for the cast around him.



The special effects were better than I'd expected (finale was really something), and the band/orchestra was solid (despite the songs being fairly unmemorable, the movie soundtrack still soars).

Interesting. He actually sat next to me watching it at one of the first Manchester performances after coming in late.

I hope they don't go down the stunt casting route
