Has anyone tried rush for this yet? I’m going to give it a go for the Monday matinee this week (great to see a Monday matinee, guessing it’s because of the bank holiday) but assuming it’ll be a tough one. I've looked out of curiosity over the course of this week, I haven't seen 2 tickets offered yet but singles have come up, generally in the back half of the Dress Circle 😀

I've tried a couple of times. It's one of those ones that's like gold dust and goes very quickly straight away at 10am. They seem to have reopened it a couple of times when they've had spare tickets - I managed to get a single in my basket late Friday afternoon (dress circle row N), which was no use whatsoever to me as I was already booked elsewhere and was just looking out of nosiness. I doubt that will be the case on Monday though since it looks to be almost entirely sold out.

I got two on Tuesday around 12:45, row L Dress circle. Best to keep checking if they don’t immediately appear.

Wow just wow…. And that end scene with the car HOW DID THEY DO THAT?? The cast was absolutely phenomenal and the changes they made from Manchester were greatly needed. This years Oliviers are going to be something else It’s going to be hard to decide between Back To The Future and Frozen for best lighting… Hugh Coles up for best supporting role.. Olly Dobson up for best actor… The show was a bit louder than I would have liked, I felt like my ears were gonna pop off. Yes - I am sitting here trying to work out how *that* bit is done. {Spoiler - click to view} The fact we never see an arm attached to it (because it does its inversion and then we see the front and the back) is what confuses me... but it MUST be an arm.

{Spoiler - click to view} Now that more people have seen it - does anyone else find the scene with the car at the end a little annoyingly long? Feels like they're just showing off, trying to disprove whatever your theory is about how the car is working - spinning it upside-down so it's clear it's not on wires, turning it so it's clear it's more complicated than the lift that has Elphaba flying in Wicked. It felt overly laboured - we get it, it's impressive, but must they milk it quite so much? I'm also curious - has anyone seen this from the upper circle? Do the scenes with the car driving through the streets work less well from that angle? I was right at the back of the stalls and was pleasantly surprised they were still effective, but I'd imagine a top view might compromise the effect?

{Spoiler - click to view} I think it's a case of it being that it HAS to be done and the mechanism behind it is a bit slow. When I saw it in Manchester it took them ages to strap the guys in - so there were just people huddled around the car for about 30 seconds. I think they've sped that up massively for London. It's still a beautifully executed illusion! The car stuff worked well from the Dress Circle in Manchester... that's all I can add.

It's impressive, certainly, but I almost found myself looking at my watch, it was so drawn out :')
Good to hear that things work from other levels! Sometimes it feels like set designers have forgotten people will be watching a show from somewhere other than the middle of the stalls...

I think I need to let this curates egg of a show sink in a bit. I found it bizarrely old fashioned and cheesy. Bart & Dobson both very appealing leads, and lots of impressive stage craft on display, but I left a bit cold to it all.
A note to anyone with legs, don’t book D4 in the DC. I wanted end of row leg room, but the seat is sat on a raised slope so that gap between arse & floor is much less than normal. Assume the other end of the row is the same. I was crippled after 2 minutes and had to ask to move. It was a full house but the very helpful FOH manager found us 2 presumably unused house seats in the stalls for act 2. Great service.

Does anyone know how/if Theatre Tokens can be redeemed at the box office or LW Theatres as there's a lot more availability on there then what's showing on the Official London booking site for the same performances?

Android and iPhone offer something called a wallet which lets you download things often having barcodes or QR codes on them for ease of access. You don’t have to download them to your wallet; you can probably just show the email attachment when you arrive on your phone. Or open the email attachment on your computer, print it and bring that along.

I'm currently looking to book tickets and I'm torn between centre stalls (Row F) and centre dress circle (Row G) seats. - Seat MapWhich seats would people recommend to appreciate the show and the 'effect'

I loved it! Just enough taken from the film with some different lines and humour added in. Great audience too, clearly big fans of the films in.

But if they are TodayTix rush seats, you have to collect a physical ticket from the box office as there's no barcode on the TodayTix confirmation - even though it gives you the option of downloading it to the wallet!
