So tickets back on general sale before we get our new dates and have a chance to move them? Tickets are back on sale now. I shouldn't think there will be a sudden rush for them though, given they have been on sale for 6 months already and there is still good availability. But yes, would be good to know that date we've moved to so we can rebook, if need be. So, after my initial panic to get early tickets I worked out where the sub £20 stalls tickets are. There are only 14 I think. So of course they are all gone! It depends how flexible LW want to be as moving from front row stalls to rear of the upper circle isn’t really equivalent for me, even though the price is the same. But I can’t do anything until they confirm my new dates as I may want some of them (I’ve booked 4 across the run, not too greedy and they are all in different places to give the different views)

Has anyone been given a date for their re-scheduled show yet? My booking isn’t showing up on my ATG account.

I thought it was ok but can see that it will be much better when they can perform normally. Off stage for a year and with no audience can't be easy!

Nothing should ever be judged from a TV promo performance, it's an entirely different environment.

Has anyone been given a date for their re-scheduled show yet? My booking isn’t showing up on my ATG account. I have, earlier tonight, but not ATG. For the Adelphi we've been moved to the same two seats on the same weekday a few weeks after the opening - by LW Theatres. I did have an ATG booking for BTTF at Manchester but that was refunded last April.

Agreed, after seeing Patti LuPone do Sunset Blvd on Children in Need all those years ago I went out the next day to buy the CDs and book tickets for the show

That was a terrible promo for what I've heard is an excellent musical. I don't know the musical score but from the sounds of it - it seems very similar to the film. I would have wanted more group numbers to promote a show - but maybe it was logistics to do with social distancing? It didn't help that Comic Relief was just endless pandemic joke after another. I thought the guy who plays Marty is amazing - got a real rasp to his voice. I love the film so will be seeing this at some point but I feel like that was quite disjointed - went on forever, less is more.

Was the first song they did from the film (never seen it!) or new?
Much preferred Power Of Love anyway!

It looks like the 1st song is a new one for the show. Totally agree with you about POL. It got the Manc OH rocking when it started the afternoon I saw it!

Was the first song they did from the film (never seen it!) or new? Much preferred Power Of Love anyway! You’ve NEVER seen Back to the Future? Please do. As my username will attest to, I’m a big fan. The movie isn’t a musical, so only features a few songs on its soundtrack which aren’t that relevant to the plot, The Power of Love being one. So that first song last night, and any others you hear which actually have anything to do with the plot, is new. I agree with everyone else who said last night’s performance was a misstep. Everything else I’ve seen of the show has sold it so well and made me excited about seeing it. Last night... hmmmmm... it felt weak. It might have been the best they could do given social distancing and of course without Roger Bart actually being physically involved? Either way, it was a poor new song and the newly scripted comedy around the songs was questionable. I doubt it’s illustrative of the show, but it won’t have prompted many extra ticket sales based on the reaction I’ve seen online today.

God the humour was groan worthy.
Musicals never come across well on tv and this was a prime example. I’m sure it sold 4 or 5 more tickets though.

Aaaaages ago (long before Manc opened) they released a version of POL just sung by Olly Dobson (think it's an ensemble number from second verse onwards in the show) which is sensational. He's got a great voice and is pretty adorable all round. Remember him from the original Bat Out of Hell ensemble....

I've seen very few films to be fair as always tend to prefer TV stuff at home or live theatre when out! Anyway, it's true, things never come across great out of context on TV shows, this has long been a problem for musicals. The best TV performances tend to be the Olivier's or back in the day Royal Variety but even they are often lacking. Given that, I quite enjoyed it. Must say from what I have heard thus far am certainly not wowed by the new music. My own personal feelings are that music is first and foremost in a musical. (Not always a popular opinion but I can easily forgive a daft story with a great score but lose interest if the music is mediocre no matter how great the plot). Have only heard good things about the doomed Manchester run though. I'd love this to be great because of the new score rather than in-spite of it though. Too many movie to musical adaptations with mediocre music over the last decade.

@sharpe12 Is that the YT video with him in the recording studio with the band? If it is, it's a great version with a great vocal from Olly. Certainly, the musical numbers in the show were a mixed bag for me (the film songs aside, which got the biggest cheers in the audience I was sat in), but the set and special effects - fabulous! Plenty of folk reliving their youth with this show!!

Yup, heard that about the show :-) I'll deffo be going when it opens!
