No, just an 'unofficial' recording Hang on what's this about? 😂 It sounds like it’s about a bootleg, something we have rules about so best not to ask 🙂

Really sad this didn’t get a transfer or to finish its run, I do think it could have done well in the west end with the tweaks it was clearly starting to make.

Had a thought today - does anyone know if the set is still sitting in the Manchester Opera House?!
I wonder in fact if all touring productions have sets just sitting in these empty theatres where they played their last dates. In a slightly eerie dystopian way.
Is the Phantom set still in Leicester? Etc etc.....

Fortunately, our new member, setshifter, may be able to answer that very question.

Would make sense to continue, nothing else would be rehearsed and ready to just go in.

Thanks. Am fascinated by these sets that were kinda abandoned in regional theatres. Some will be taken to the next tour venue one day. Some will never be used again. For the former, I wonder if significant maintenance will be required or if their mechanics and appearance will be well preserved.

Most touring sets are taken back to the producer's storage facilities, otherwise the producer has to carry on hiring the touring venue. Sound, lighting and music equipment that is hired is returned to the provider.

Sound, lighting and music equipment that is hired is returned to the provider. When the closure happened, some sets were taken out and stored on our trailers, not many managed to get back to Producers stores, many are still in theatres, such as Lion King up in Edinburgh, it is a 27 trailer show and was left there.

Fortunately, our new member, setshifter , may be able to answer that very question. Indeed I can, many are still sitting there, BTTF is still in Manchester as are many of the bigger ones, a few we managed to get out and are stored on trailers, ready to get moving again when this is all over. We did many get ins on the Monday and were back again on the Tuesday taking them out again.

West End I believe everything is still say waiting.

there's nothing sadder that a stage set not lit and unpeopled.

Lea Thompson (the original Lorraine Baines McFly) is hosting a Zoom reunion with all of the original movie cast online this evening, hosted by Josh Gad.
I wonder if they'll discuss the musical at all? Christopher Lloyd has obviously been involved in promotion for it, so hopefully it will be brought up - even just as part of the discussion when they inevitably get questions about a fourth movie/continuing the franchise.

SF - my overzealous use of the word 'sad' has been acknowledged. I should perhaps replace it with 'evocative' or some such.

Is this from the film or is a cast recording available? I'm another one gutted not to have seen this and SO hope it opens in London and not Broadway first. I can't see Prince of Egypt coming back so that might solve the theatre availability problem.... No, just an 'unofficial' recording And I've been watching an "unofficial" recording. It's a fantastic show, excited to see whether it gets a West End run.

No real surprise but ATG have just confirmed that BTTF has not been rescheduled for Manchester
