We didn't have Bradley Judge (who is off with Covid) - Gavin Alex was on as Corny Collins, and I agree he was great. I agree that Marisha and Michael were great too - I can see where you're coming from with Les, but I do like him with Michael, they make a good duo. I guess where you're sat would affect how well you can hear the actors, I could hear Mari and Georgia perfectly well from where I was sat, but when I saw it further back last week, I did notice it was more a struggle - particularly with Mari as she puts on a cartoonish voice in her portrayal of Penny. You raise a very interesting point about Ashley, I've seen him 5 times and not noticed that, but thinking about it - that is true, but then pretty much every Seaweed I've seen sings it to the audience, so that may be a direction issue rather than Ashley - he does sing it brilliantly though.
I'm not sure what time you entered the auditorium, but there were 2 announcements for masks, one just before 7, and another about 7.20 - but it was more a polite request for people with masks to wear them. Maybe something more direct may have helped with mask wearing,

Hi all, looking for some help. Do they do ‘day seats’ for this? I’m seeing a matinee of Heathers on Saturday and would like to see something in the evening. I could get to the theatre in the morning for day seats if they do them? Otherwise will try my luck with rush tickets! Thanks in advance  |

Saw this two weeks ago and loved it, great to see Michael Ball in the role again, the whole cast was teriffic, saw only after the show, that Tracy and Motormouth were understudies. First time at the Coliseum, quite a distance to the stage because of the huge orchestra pit (must fit orchestras for opera after all), even from the front row. 10/10

I caught the matinee yesterday and what a blast. Despite being a fan of the score for over a decade, it was my first time seeing it on stage and I was surprised by how "loose" the plot could be at times, the 2007 movie did a good job at tightening it up. Some performances are a little over the top even for the genre and style of the show, but still it's a wonderful cast and a joyous couple of hours. But wow, the predatory lesbian gym teacher gag has aged so poorly.

Some really good deals on today tix for the last matinee tomorrow. Majority of the stalls are £35, as oppose to £105 direct with coliseum. Thought it would've sold a bit better to be honest.

Already have an evening show in Brentwood and was going to try Rush tomorrow but this is far better. Wonder it'll be a bit of a muck up matinee? |

Treated myself to a £25 Rush seat for the closing performance tonight (Row B, Dress Circle). Finally got to use a credit voucher I'd been holding onto for 18 months so it was actually only £15. Should be a great energy in the room for the final show at the Coliseum 😁

A joyous show tonight, it really is one of the best musicals, a real mood-lifter from start to finish. It's always a good show show when done on the cheap, but this was a really strong and polished production. All of the leads were great, Michael Ball clearly loving life, Lizzie Bea and Marisha Wallace both brilliant and emotional at the bows. Marisha also got another deserved standing ovation for IKWIB.
A very energetic and receptive audience, some irritating behaviour near me (if you're going to sing, learn to do it in tune), but lots of love in the room. The cast didn't always pause long enough at the end of each song to properly absorb the applause, but maybe if they had done it would've been 4 hours long 🤣
Michael also gave a lovely speech at the end, a celebration of theatre being back and gratitude for audiences returning.

I was told early in the run that there was likely to be a cast CD. - They were having discussions apparently. - All very hush hush. No chance thought I since we didn't get one for the original run at the Shaftesbury.

Was just thinking about this production recently, I really expected it to have a further life. I feel like the original announced run for 2020 was close to 6 months whereas this ended up running less due to not being able to open until end of June, and they must have lost out on about 2 weeks of performances when covid swept the company. I know we had the tour running at the same time and for many months after, which although was very inferior in production value, the average theatregoer seemed to love it anyway, so I guess no one was going to travel a long way to see it in London.
I know there were rumours of it transferring into the Dominion, I’d have thought it would have sold better than Grease, Dirty Dancing and all the other limited runs that have ended up there. Maybe they didn’t want to transfer without Michael Ball attached again?
