This is supposed to be a trend? Anyway welcome to it.
Been to see Bret Easton Ellis at the Bridge Theatre today and it was very much worth it. Interesting author, interesting guy.

Saw Ian Rankin and Lee Child last year at the Southbank. Made for an interesting couple of hours of conversation between the two authors although the Q&A afterwards left something to be desired. I love stuff like this.

Most of the book events I go to tend to be signings of celebrity biographies and the like (Alexei Sayle, Bryan Cranston, Nick Frost, the Beastie Boys and Moby spring to mind over the last few years) Only 'proper' authors I can recall seeing in recent years are Irvine Welsh and Chuck Palahniuk.

Neil Gaiman does a lot of speaking/readings all over the world, but they sell out very quickly. Sadly his next one in London ( November 12th) with the BBC Symphony Orchestra is sold out already.  |
