Hang on there. Kristina ran off with Shirley's husband? This didn’t seem to impinge on the show at all then? Lovely people dancers, very accepting. This was well before Shirley was on Strictly and possibly before Kristina joined Strictly. But were they on the UK show together? If they were, then it wasn’t an issue or so it would seem so i reckon siblings can probably cut it 😂 |

I've heard Anneka Rice, Jamie Laing and Sam Allardyce mentioned. Good luck to the girl who gets Big Sam - Katya so she won't run off with him, Janette to dance around him, Oti as she has a big chest like him, Amy as she always gets the older bloke etc.
There has been a new female pro announced called Nancy Xu who is a 28 year old Chinese dancer who has been on Burn the Floor amongst others.

I think they're all names which have been bandied about for a while so I wouldn't be too surprised if they do take part, but I'm a bit skeptical as to the accuracy of his knowledge as as far as I am aware he isn't involved with the show at all, unless he is another contestant this year. I think the codenames for the three are supposedly: Bananaman Hulk Mystique Jamie Lang made a disgusting Banana Bread in Celebrity Bake off, so could be a good shout. |

Well, they got that well and truly wrong - deliberately to throw us off the scent?
First three are:
David James (ex England and Liverpool goalie)
Chris Ramsey (comedian - don't know him, I'm afraid)
Emma Barton (Honey from Eastenders, as well as lots of stage stuff)

Emma Barton might get the ringer tag depending on who else is in the line up.
None of this lot do anything for me so far, compared to last year, but there’s really only one or two names that could’ve topped last year for me.

The first three names are fairly good - Chris Ramsey will be funny and is a very likeable Geordie. David James was a well known footballer and played for England over 50 times, I wonder if this makes Sam Allardyce unlikely as two males from football might be overkill especially as one of the England Ladies footballers is a likely option on the show. If any of the World Cup winning cricket squad were available they could be a good current option.
Emma Barton will be good, I don't know what exact training she has done but I've seen her in a number of musicals over the years so should have good musicality, will have a big fanbase from EastEnders too. I'm not going to say she'll win it but she is the likely over 40's woman who makes the final like Faye and Louise in recent years. Emma will likely need one of the taller male pros as she is listed at 1.75 metres which is 5ft 9ins, I don't know whether that is in shoes are barefooted. If she was in heels then she'd be pushing 6ft.
Jamie Laing would also have a big fan base especially on social media so could go a fair way if the rumours are true.

BBC Press Office has announced Catherine Tyldesley from Corrie is joining the Strictly line up. Also, "social media star" Saffron Barker. What? Who?
Actually, I'm a bit slow on the uptake - apparently they were announced on This Morning too, but I don't watch that.

Catherine is a great signing, she'll be very entertaining and should be a reasonably good contestant.
Must admit I had to Google Saffron to find out who she was. She will be one of the youngest contestants ever - guess AJ will be her likely pro.

Wonder if they will get another politician to do it. Never had a serving MP - Vince Cable did the Xmas show a few years back but at 76 years old might be a bit too old, Theresa May isn't doing much?

At least Anne Widdecombe being an MEP should mean we don't have to suffer her presented as a cuddly comedy contestant on It Takes Two this year rather than the hard right bigot she really is.
