What’s going on with those devices on the judges desk? They look like calculators. Are they sharing scores before the paddles go up? They punch in their scores before the paddles, presumably so that they can have the graphics ready to go

Will's story is heartbreaking. He is inspirational.
In tears here

Still in tears now. He isn't a dancer. But what a heroic performance

Can't stop blubbing. When you do something from the heart, it shines through

Have always liked him.
And that was under marked

Really disliked the cut of the song and it all felt a bit frantic for me.

The dances I like to see performed most are: Cha Cha Cha Jive Charleston Quickstep Paso Doble
I definitely veer more towards Latin. I like quickstep because it’s fast and bouncy but the rest of the ballroom.. not so much. I did like twirly Viennese though.

Charleston is always a crowd pleaser.
But my fave dance of all time has to be the Argentine Tango. So intense. So connected. And if you see it danced (as originally intended) by 2 men, it is electrifying

A couple of clunky moves apart that was a very decent salsa. Hate the song but it was a good piece of dance overall It wasn't a salsa at all to me, barely recognised any actual salsa! Karim is a good dancer but I thought this was dreadful! Craig is absolutely right about him over-dancing.

Really interesting how the better dancers all had poor weeks this week - in Kelvin and Karim's case hampered by unsuitable music and poor choreography, in Michelle's by her inability to show she is really feeling and emotionally connecting with the dance (though I thought she was a little undermarked).
Saffron was deservedly top - her Foxtrot footwork was excellent, though there wasn't enough of it as it ended up more like an American Smooth.
I thought Alex was great, really enjoyed her dance. Will's contemporary was lovely.
Viscountess Emma was good but overmarked - her posture went halfway through and caused loads of gapping and it could have been much smoother.
Karim was a huge disappointment - badly danced and not a salsa. Catherine looked stunning but her posture is still awful.
People who don't have time to train enough irritate me and Emma B showed why - that dance was painfully under-rehearsed.
Karen's quickstep choreography was awful and Chris didn't dance well at all, his footwork was terrible.
David tried very hard but wasn't good, Mike didn't seem to be trying much at all to do anything other than be the "comedy" act. I have no idea what he was supposed to be dancing but the choreography was terrible and the execution even worse.

Agree that comics can be like that, especially when they are on chat shows and try to take over when every guest is being interviewed.

Will certainly gave the most memorable performance of the night. Alex the biggest improvement. Chris the best trouser filler. Saffron the most ridiculously overmarked, and who did that horrific edit on NYNY? Kelvin could have gained a few points if he'd ditched the ugly denim jacket.

Kelvin could have gained a few points if he'd ditched the ugly denim jacket. Well it's hardly his fault the wardrobe department don't know what appropriate costumes should look like! Saffron really wasn't overmarked by much, Foxtrot is a very difficult dance and her technique was excellent.

I didn't understand Mike's dance, he seemed to get oddly stuck at the apex of his samba rolls (if that's what they were.) David was down from last week - I find him endearing but think he'll be in trouble.
So those are my guesses for the bottom two.
I wonder about Emma and Anton and how long she'll stay in. She's likeable enough but always a bit under-powered. Agree - big improvement from Alex.

Great opening routine tonight. That’s the second week in a row where the whole dance has held together as a whole - I personally don’t like the ones where basically the camera is chasing around from one set piece to the next or too many cuts.

I can't watch Strictly as I am not in the UK (yet!), but I am following it as best as I can via youtube, instagram and twitter. Yesterday, I really enjoyed Alex & Neil's Charleston (I also really like them as a couple in general, so even though their dances might not be the best, I enjoy watching them), and I am a big fan of Karim and Amy. I also like Saffron & AJ. They provide lots of backstage and training footage on youtube My least favourites at the moment are David and Mike, mainly because I don't really connect with them. I don't think they're very likeable. Looking forward to the Hallowe'en week!
