I’m coming to London from NYC with two 12 yo boys. I have 4 tix for Sweet Charity @ Donmar. One more than the other likes shows but if there’s enough energy, humor and dancing they’ll both do fine. What do you you all think from what you’ve heard of SC? Have they drained the life and humor out of it? Should it still be OK? If not that, what?

School Of Rock,Aladdin and The Lion King come to mind. SOR slways has good deals at TKTS in Leicester Square or at the theatre box-office itself.Haven’t seen SC yet at the Donmar yet so can’t comment. Six at the Arts Theatre might work and off-west-end Little Miss Sunshine might be a good call for you at the Arcola.Check out the legendary theatremonkey web-site for in-depth info on seating plans,deals etc etc.Asked my young teenage daughter and she said Phantom and Les Mis as possible other choices.She adores Waitress and Come From Away as well after seeing them earlier in the year.

Coming from New York I assume they might have already seen the Disney shows, Wicked, School of Rock - or if they haven't you'd surely like to see in London something you cannot see at home - so I think Six could be a good choice: it's short energetic and fun. If you consider plays too there are the shows of the "play that goes wrong" franchise, which are hysterically funny, and The Woman in Black, which is not funny at all but can be quite thrilling for a young theatergoer.

Yes,The Comedy About A Bank Robbery and The Play That Goes Wrong would work.The Woman In Black depends on how the two boys would cope with the structure of the re-telling of the tale and of course the psychological fear factor.Then of course there is Club Tropicana in Wimbledon if something left-field is more in order lol.Pity that the Dinosaur World Live thingy isn’t open yet.Oh and what about the Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night or whatever it’s called...is that still playing?

Do you mean Come From Away? Yes, we’ve seen most of the shows that play both London and NYC. I forgot to mention it should also be something that I would like to see. I might wait and read more posts about Sweet Charity and if it doesn’t sound good I’ll go with the Comedy About a Bank Robbery or Six.
