Mines Lucky Dip so I assume I don't find out until I get there? Yes, you need to go to the theatre a little in advance and you will put in a queue just outside the main theatre (still indoors). Once everybody has arrived, so basically two minutes before the show starts they make people with the Lucky Dip enter and they put them in the free seats (unsold or not reclaimed by buyers). Of course, the sooner you arrive before the show the best place you will have in the queue. I used the Lucky Dip option for 'The brothers Size' and I got a very good sit in the second row. Yes I suspect the lucky dip guaranteed seats will be in little used gallery, and if you get lucky you might get something better. The way the current format of the Young Vic is means there are very few bad seats.

Is there a link to the seating plan? I bought £10 seats through Young Vic but can't see any ticket numbers on my account. Anyone know where £10 seats are located?

If you booked through the Young Vic, email the box office to ask where they've put you, they're usually pretty good about responding.

First week sold out and only a handful left at most performances until the end of July unless I'm missing something Check 30/7 11/8 22/8 1/9 More than 75% available Tickets all Through most of July as well The previews are sold out As people are cheap and want a discount Enforcing a 2 ticket limit suggests A frenzy of demand The ROH does this for shows which basically Sell out on the day of booking opening It seems stupid when this show is far far from sold out My point was someone at the YV thinks the show (at the moment) is more in demand than reality proves And I am not sure what the point of the ticket limit is with swathes unsold No one wants them and it’s been on sale for months What is the rationale behind the limit??

Yes I suspect the lucky dip guaranteed seats will be in little used gallery, and if you get lucky you might get something better. The way the current format of the Young Vic is means there are very few bad seats. Looking at the seat plan for this production, the (unpleasant) gallery does not appear to be on sale for Fun Home (or, for that matter, for The Inheritance). Whether that means they'll put Lucky Dip patrons up there, I don't know; I booked a £10 (not Lucky Dip) ticket for Wings and was assigned a seat up there (it had been a fair while since I'd been in the Young Vic, I didn't even know they had seats up there when I booked), and at that performance three people, me included, got to their seats and just. could. not. stay. there. While I'm not keen on heights, I'm more than familiar with cheap theatre seats and I've been in pretty much every balcony and upper circle in the West End, and I think the gallery in the Young Vic is the only time in 30+ years of solo theatregoing where I've got to a seat and had an immediate, visceral reaction that I couldn't sit there. The ushers found alternative seats for all three of us (we were three individual patrons rather than a group of three), which they didn't have to do; I got the distinct impression that people having that reaction to those gallery seats was not exactly unusual. The £10 seats for Fun Home appear to be in the balcony, rather than the gallery, and right at the far ends of the second row - so more or less a side-on view, close to the stage; I would not be all that surprised if they'd simply stopped selling those gallery seats on the basis that they're more trouble than they are worth.

I definitely think ticket limits make sense when it comes to the first week of ticket sales. It makes sure the organised theatre fans who are eagerly awaiting a new production can get their seats and should put off any touts. But then if a production has plenty of seats available after that, just lift the limit. It makes no sense.

I booked about 6 tickets for the first performance for me and some friends during members booking before the ticket limit notice was on the site. YV haven’t contacted me to say I can’t have all those tickets and the bookings are all on my account so I’m hoping it’s ok? I’m too scared to ask in case they take some of my tickets back and I have to disappoint my friends!

They can try and take two away from me but I will FIGHT THEM IF THEY TRY

I'd say as the notice wasn't up when you bought them, and that they haven't noticed/flagged it up then you're well within your rights to fight it if they questioned it. Personally I'd stick with the 'don't say anything' approach as it's doubtful the person on box office on the day would notice/do anything.

I’ve never been before and I can’t find it on @theatremonkey website... hey monkey what’s the story?
While we wait for him to get out of bed and have his breakfast banana, I googled and the stalls look like bench seating and completey in the round. Is it always like that and is legroom ok in the stalls?

I'm honestly at the point where I can't imagine anyone other than Jenna Russell playing Helen, and that's even having already seen Judy Kuhn play the role.

Let’s hope Jenna’s EE departure is timed for a segue into Fun Home? She’d be perfect.

I always hate it when people get obsessed with an actor prediction for an upcoming show but LORD ABOVE PLEASE LET IT BE JENNA.
I think it's feasible with her Eastenders exit. Maybe it's why she's leaving. The timescales work.

I heard a rumour a few weeks ago that it she was going into this. But wasn't sure if it was just wishful thinking!

Maybe it's why she's leaving. The timescales work. When you think about it, this might explain why the casting for Fun Home has not been announced yet, despite the first preview being roughly three months away - which is slightly odd for the UK premiere of a show that was very well received by both audience and critics in its Off-Broadway and Broadway incarnations. Revealing Jenna's commitment to be on stage, even for a limited run, would have effectively meant revealing to the general public that something (potentially bad?) would soon be happening to her character on Eastenders to justify her disappearance. In this context, it would make sense for the producers to agree to withhold casting information until "the last minute". Yet, now that Jenna herself has tweeted that she wasn't "axed", but fancied doing something else... and this would clearly be right up her street... come on Young Vic people, spill the beans already!

They are still casting. Or were tail end of last week when I was meeting a friend in the restaurant and heard "Ring of Keys" being sung by a succession of kids in nearby room.
