It seems like he doesn't really the rights from Sony or whatever film studio is behind it. Also, do you know any of the creative people? It sounds like an amateur production.

It’s been publicised by an Instagram page that Sleepless will be coming to the UK this Autumn.....
The artwork seems to picture Danny Mac alongside Carly Stenson. Apparently premiering with new songwriters and major script changes to suit better audiences. Starting in Plymouth, and then coming to a West End Theatre, currently in the talks with 4 different ones - (Piccadilly, Adelphi, Savoy, Dominion after WC?)
I find this source hard to believe and have done some digging.
Plymouth’s Theatre Royal (TRP), is a major UK Tour venue and usually has it’s shows announced well in advance. Currently nothing shows on their website for Sleepless and it seems their Autumn programme is fully booked.
However, there is a gap between 26 Oct - 26 Nov. At first, I thought this could work, however Danny Mac (featured in the Artwork) would be rehearsing and performing in White Christmas at that time, so wouldn’t be able to do Sleepless.
Should we listen to this source or is it completely fake?
Anyone know anymore?
Or is it possible it’s old artwork from the show when it tried a few years ago or is Danny in fact starring in it but the dates are wrong??

I've never seen the film of Sleepless in Seattle and it sounds like the sort of thing that would make me cringe.
Apparently I saw Danny Mac twice in On The Town at Regents Park, but he made so little impression on me that I have no recollection of him at all. I only found out a couple of weeks ago that he was married to Carley Stenson because I googled her!
So not at all sure about this, though I'd like to see Carley.

Autumn 19 is almost upon us and still not a word? I was one of those who had a ticket for this at the Lyric at the Lowry. Well. Carly Stenson is now free! But surely this isn't happening. If it was on in Plymouth this Autumn you'd be able to book now.

And Danny Mac is in Amelie until October.
It’s clearly a load of old rubbish. I don’t know why the so-called producers would have a website up promoting something that’s clearly not happening. It makes them look stupid.

That's a terrible article. "The shows that do not win awards might post their closing notices soon, freeing up a theatre for Sleepless". He sounds like a lovely piece of work.
And saying they had fired Leslie Bricusse. Yeah right. When Michael Rose, producer of Chitty replaces Leslie with the MD of Chitty.... it sounds like he just wants a 'yes man'.

Super confused by this. It seems it’s also doing three preview performances on 13/14 December before the full run in March next year.

On sale direct from theatre too. Seat choice and cheaper. Got the front row seat I wanted on opening night for £39.50.
I booked to see this at Plymouth in 2017. The day after I booked the rail travel on non-refundable advance tickets it was cancelled. Still made the journey though.

Pricing seems reasonable, but aren't both leads way too good-looking? It was always part of the movie's charm that both leads were rather ordinary folks and not model types.

Front row for me for the Saturday night - I do love Michael Xavier, and I've wanted an excuse to have a look at what is my local theatre.

I believe the rights holders had to open a production this year or else the rights would revert back to the creators...or something? There was a discussion on here a while back?

But both she and Hanks were good-looking in a more ordinary down-to-Earth way and not in any way "glamourous" - you look at Xavier and Walsh and have no idea how people like that could ever be lonely.

Kimberly Walsh... Nah, I’ll pass thanks. To be fair, BIG was the first thing I'd seen her in and vocally, she was the best thing in it.

Agreed, Kimberley has a surprisingly good voice, she'll be fine in this.

Kimberly Walsh... Nah, I’ll pass thanks. Pretty sure she probably has more talent in her little finger than your entire self. Her voice has improved significantly since Girls Aloud.
