George Ure was Boq, with Danny first cover, I think. I also saw him as Warner recently and thought he was fine in that, if a little understated (which I took to be the TV back to stage transition, something that Strictly has probably overcome!)

I personally really want to see this show, mainly due to the casting rather than the show itself. Really like both leads! Won't be seeing it though unless more dates are added.

Great casting from my eye. Will be intrigued to see how it sells and if it goes to the West End. He is the more recognisable of the two but both have equal selling power so hopefully it should amount to good sales! If it ran n the West End, I'd iamgine it be a set limited run unless the reviews from tour were amazing, are they are no where near famous enough to sell a year long, West End run. But I hope it does well and tHat it does go to the West End. It certianly appear the plan with the offical website, but we have heard that before... www.sleeplessthemusical.com

Also... timing of the announcement, plus timing of the tour ending... Picadilly Theatre anyone?

Also... timing of the announcement, plus timing of the tour ending... Picadilly Theatre anyone? I was thinking that as a filler/transfer before FN comes along.... then I think it will go to Broadway (American show) but would be recast for America.

Oh not doubt it would be a recast for America, and dependant on sales for the tour or reviews, could even have one of them bumped off before it hits the West End to boost ticket sales with a bigger names. Which is crap and shouldn't happen, but producer mentality.

It depends burn for a limited season, I think they'd sell well in WE. Strictly has definitely boosted Danny's career. He was known by the youngsters from Hollyoaks now the people who watch strictly know of him too. Same with Carley, known from Hollyoaks and also now from musical shows.

Oooo love, from some couples it makes the chemistry non-existant, trust me.

I have my doubts it'll transfer, that's just wishful thinking and selling well on tour isn't the same as selling well in the West End.

I'm quite excited for this, but not enough to travel to its currently quoted venues. An extended tour, if not a transfer, would be greatly welcomed!

Judging from that Variety review, unless it's been significantly rewritten then I fear it'll be slaughtered by critics.

Charley: great news!
Danny: awful! Cheese o rama!!
Now torn as to whether to see it at the Lowry. I don't think a Ken Doll is right for that role.

So harsh!
Danny is a great performer.. loved him on Strictly. He was a sensational dancer. Can he sing? Will he be shirtless?

It sounds laughably bad, perhaps even to Exposure the Musical levels of unintentional hilarity, in its previous guise. I wonder if that is part of the reason for the change of name which otherwise makes little sense from a marketing perspective.

Oh if Danny gets shirtless the I am sold. It seems pretty clear that this will have three types of audience members: hen parties, the gays and men dragged along my their partners or gay friends.

The worry is that the creative team is really naff.. no A list talent involved.

I thought the original movie was stupid. If I remember it right the son who only lost his mother a little over a year before is trying to set up his father on a date. One year and the son is up for a new mom. I do not think that was, is or will be realistic. I may have been in the few but did not like it so cannot possibly understand a musical around it.

Interesting casting. Heaven knows how they're going to shoehorn a samba into this though . . .

The kid also managed to buy a plane ticket and travel from Seattle to NYC alone and unaccompanied. ER, I DONT THINK SO! I can imagine the reviws now... "Pointless...." "Plotless..." "Shameless..." etc etc ive booked though. Can't wait!

I'd be really surprised if this doesn't come to London for a limited run judging by the casting and it being only a 3 day tour.
I've heard it could be going to Broadway but I don't think Danny & Carley would go too. I would LOVE to see them on stage together so even if this doesn't transfer, I hope they do another musical together soon!

I very nearly was going to put a trip in to Plymouth to see this and Trekkie Monster - Glad I didn't, wonder if they will be able to keep the principles or they will get released from their contracts?
