As @crowback and I have derailed the Donmar thread with this, anyone else got Daddy issues they want to talk about over here?
Because boy do I...
Seriously this is at once slow and batsh*t crazy but I can’t stop watching. Helen McRory is giving it some stone cold fox as well.

Yes it is very watchable and with great performances all round.

I'm afraid I have decided to give up on it. Too dreary and depressing for me and very little happening. Sorry but just not me.

It’s a VERY slow burn but great acting and a thought provoking story line is keeping me watching.

It makes a lot more sense now I read who the writer is.
The London Spy feel is very evident - even though it is a completely different narrative.
High quality - but not easy - viewing

Just caught up to the end of episode 5. What an utterly Larkin'd family that is.
The writing is precise and clinical. The direction is similarly precise and measured. The performances are incredible. It is both epic and domestic at the same time. At times operatic, at times minimalist. I have no idea where the plot is heading - and that is wonderful. The performances are just so watchable that I don't want each scene to end.
This should sweep the awards in so many categories. I have never really rated Gere before - but this has to be his best work ever. McCrory is sublime. Howle is similarly outstanding.
A must watch piece of quality drama. Intelligent, challenging, complex, difficult - but ultimately rewarding.

Watched episodes 1 and 2 tonight, it is a bit mad isn't, I do hope it doesn't give me disturbing dreams. What a cast though.

Now I ended up watching it after declining to be responsible for picking something on Netflix and dismissing fleabag as there's rather a lot of sex series one episode one and I was with someone I didn't know that well but turned out there was rather more excess in this so 😮

Just watched episode 4, now I was out earlier in a wax jacket, boots and flat cap but I'm afraid I didn't look anywhere near as stylish as anyone in this. Hooked now, though rather fearful about where we're headed.
