it sounds as good as the musical about Ernest Hemmingway, it was called Too Close To The Sun and lasted about 10 days!!
Will this live any longer??

I live in Key West and they just premiered another musical here based on the same story. It was called “ Undying Love” a much better title. “ It Happened in Key West” sounds like a spring break musical.

In the musical done here in Key West there was a big rousing number titled “He pickled her then he poked her “. It’s not Noel Coward, but hey!

Just had a look at the Facebook page for this and there's quite a few 5 star rave reviews from those that saw the lab production in the US last year. Sounds interesting!

Sounds as enticing as the Norwegian film I saw at the Flare festival about an unemployed music teacher taking his estranged transgender father on a road trip to the west coast of Norway, in order to honour his late mother's excellent quilting skills. And that was actually very good...

Perhaps not altogether unexpectedly, this seems to be selling exceptionally badly.
Ignoring certain seats which are unavailable on the seating plan for every performance, it looks like the grand total of one ticket, on Bench 2, has been sold for the first preview.
Six of the seven Saturday evening performances currently appear to have failed to have matched even that level of sales to date, with not a single ticket sold between them.
Romantic necrophiliacs of London town, where are you?!

I mean, I don't mind a musical about a dark or unusual topic, but blimey, don't female characters get objectified enough without being used as literal objects for a "romantic comedy musical"? Yeah, I'm going to draw my personal line at a show based on a *true story* of necrophilia, thanks.  |

I was at the first preview of this tonight. All tickets were £15 and about 90% full. Running time is about 2 hours 15 minutes with interval. The show was...bizarre, but knowing the subject matter this isn't surprising. The first act ran a little over an hour and when act two began about 10% (best guess) of the audience had left. I don't want to discourage anyone from seeing it as I feel this one will struggle to sell, but it just was not my cup of tea. A few cute parts, but a lot of disjointedly awkward moments that made it drag a bit from time to time. The only notable song, Undying Love, was reprised about 5 times...talk about undying! I give this one 2/5 stars. Was anyone else there? Opinions? |

Was 90% full at first preview tonight...all tickets were £15, but I think papering was happening as people around me were saying they were given tickets. |
