I’m gutted that we never had Tarzan, I wonder why it was never done... and I would love to see Newsies, Hunchback, The Little Mermaid (in all of its tacky glory) and Beauty and the Beast. They flopped on Broadway. B&B had a decent run at the Dominion. Cant see them coming to WE now. Disney always has something else in the pipeline.

Aida should be done as a London Musical Theatre Orchestra event, like Honeymoon in Vegas at the Palladium, which was a great night!

Aida is the one that got away and has baffled theatre fans like me, why it never did happen. Disney/Elton John/Tim Rice would sell tickets. It must be one of the most high profile hits on Broadway, not to come over? Can anyone think of a bigger show?
Why it never came over is anyone's guess, even though many years back it was rumoured to go into the Savoy, but as we know that never happened.
Now it would be a good one for somewhere like the Curve Theatre, Leicester to do and see what happens - it could end up going into the West End via this backdoor route or they could get a UK tour, saying that though, this paragraph is irrelevant if Disney wont release the rights to the UK.

I ADORED AIDA. I saw it three times on Broadway. Yes disney did plan to bring it over but sadly the numbers didn’t work, one exec said it was about money? Odd as it was in Germany. They then stopped and focused on Poppins. Such a shame - I loveeeeeeeee the score! Visually it was amazing too. Ten times better than the disappointing Frozen I saw in November. Aida had a decent set! Ha.... #stillnoicecastle

Aida has one cracker of a score! I think Willemijn Verlaine is doing it in Germany in the summer... (not playing Aida)

Aida has a great score, but the book brings it to a grinding halt. It's a total snoozefest. It only lasted so long on Broadway because of the big names they put into it during it's run.

Snooze fest?! Not at all. And it had me in tears at the end (and not through boredom before someone suggests it!)

The book is a tad pedestrian, I agree, but the score was thrilling and the design concept they came up with for Broadway was pretty damn cool. I think the score still stands, but I'm not sure the design would be as cutting edge or stylish as it did in the early noughties. As someone mentioned earlier, there's a Dutch concert of it this summer.

Has Aida ever been here, in any form? Wasn't it a relative success in Broadway, I'm surprised it never transferred over, even though it's star Heather has been with The Bodyguard.

A peek inside Drury Lane – Wow. There is something really sad about that. Why is it sad if it’s being made into something better? Like no make up before the face lift! Haha... It’s only sad if the theatre is being pulled down - it’s not. I’m excited for the refurb, just wish The Cher Show was opening it and not Zzzzzz Frozen. ZZZZZZ

I’ve never understood the mentality of repeatedly saying how much you have disliked a performance within that shows thread. It’s like “Hey guys, me again. Don’t forget I hate this one. Bye.”
We all have likes and dislikes. Reiterating the same point over and over again just looks as though you’re putting off people who might want to see it and enjoy it. There’s enough negativity in the world without the need to stick it on repeat.

I find it slightly ridiculous that they're starting to build hype for a show that's not opening until late 2020 when some West End theatres haven't even announced their programming for the rest of this year yet.
